The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for leading the enterprise marketing function and ensuring the successful execution of marketing strategies that support occupancy, revenue growth, customer retention, brand strength, and long-term property performance. This role translates enterprise objectives into scalable marketing programs, operational processes, and organizational capabilities that drive measurable business results across the portfolio.
The Vice President serves as a key member of the leadership team, partnering closely with Operations, Revenue Management, Technology, Asset Management, and Executive Leadership to align marketing strategies with company priorities. The role owns execution of marketing initiatives across the organization, continuously evaluates the health and effectiveness of the function, and implements solutions that improve performance, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
The Vice President builds and develops high-performing teams, establishes scalable processes and operating models, and champions innovation that supports business growth and competitive advantage.
Essential Functions
- Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide marketing strategies that support occupancy, revenue, retention, brand, and long-term business objectives.
- Translate enterprise priorities into actionable plans, programs, and initiatives that drive consistent execution and measurable results across the organization.
- Own marketing performance and near-term business outcomes, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives and operational execution.
- Establish, optimize, and scale processes, systems, and workflows that improve organizational effectiveness, marketing efficiency, and business performance.
- Continuously assess the health of the marketing function by evaluating performance metrics, organizational capabilities, customer insights, market conditions, and operational effectiveness; identify and implement solutions to address gaps and opportunities.
- Lead enterprise customer acquisition, retention, reputation management, and brand strategies to strengthen market position and improve customer engagement.
- Oversee marketing technology, digital platforms, analytics capabilities, and vendor partnerships to maximize effectiveness, scalability, and return on investment.
- Drive data-informed decision-making through performance measurement, advanced analytics, market intelligence, and customer insights.
- Partner with Executive Leadership to establish strategic priorities, evaluate investment opportunities, and influence key business decisions.
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives that advance organizational goals and improve collaboration across departments.
- Oversee marketing budgets, resource allocation, organizational planning, and investment strategies to ensure efficient use of resources and achievement of business objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, customer trends, and industry developments to identify opportunities that improve performance and strengthen competitive advantage.
- Champion innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement throughout the marketing organization.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing marketing organization, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, talent development, and results.
- Develop organizational capabilities, succession plans, and leadership pipelines that support long-term growth and scalability.
- Serve as the organization's senior marketing leader and trusted advisor to executive leadership on marketing strategy, performance, customer trends, and growth opportunities.Supervisory Responsibilities
Executive leadership responsibility for the Marketing function. Leads Senior Directors, Directors, Managers, and other marketing professionals. Responsible for organizational design, talent strategy, performance management, leadership development, succession planning, resource allocation, and fostering a high-performing, results-oriented culture.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 12+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including significant responsibility leading enterprise or multi-market marketing functions.
- Experience developing and executing growth strategies within multifamily, real estate, hospitality, retail, or other consumer-focused industries preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale organizational initiatives, enterprise marketing transformation, and cross-functional business partnerships.
- Proven ability to translate enterprise strategy into execution and measurable business results.
- Demonstrated success building, scaling, and leading high-performing marketing organizations.
- Strong expertise in customer acquisition, retention, digital marketing, brand strategy, analytics, marketing technology, and operational excellence.
- Experience developing scalable processes, operating models, and organizational capabilities.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive enterprise decision-making.
- Demonstrated success managing significant budgets, investments, and vendor partnerships.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and change management skills.
AIR offers attractive total compensation packages designed to recognize and reward performance at the individual, team and company levels. We start with a competitive base salary and add bonus opportunities and benefit choices topped off with:
- Expected base salary of $197,000- $215,000. You will be provided a pay rate that is in line with your skills and experience as they relate to the requirements of the job.
