About the role
Location: Westminster, London
Salary: Competitive
Reporting to: Executive Editor
The Role
Reform UK is expanding its Video & Live team and is looking for fast, technically strong Video Producer/Editors to create high-quality original output from the party's Westminster headquarters. The role will contribute to long-form programmes, interviews, packages, documentaries, live/event coverage and rapid/creative social cuts.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can take ideas through filming, editing, delivery and repackaging. You will need a sharp eye for detail, strong editorial instincts and the ability to work quickly to generate results.
What you'll do
- Produce and edit high-quality original video
- Develop, produce and edit long-form interviews, debates, packages, explainers, documentaries, events and other original video from concept through final delivery.
- Edit quickly and accurately under deadline pressure, with strong control of pacing, structure, sound, captions, and graphics.
- Find the strongest editorial moments in interviews, speeches and live material and shape them into compelling stories rather than simply assembling footage.
- Take responsibility for the technical and editorial finish of assigned projects, checking work carefully and responding constructively to feedback.
Key Responsibilities
Turn every production into multiple useful assets
Create high-volume short-form and vertical edits from long-form programmes, events and breaking material for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and other channels.
Prepare clean clips, captions, graphics, thumbnails/stills and metadata in ways that make downstream publishing fast and reliable.
Work with social and website colleagues to understand what each platform needs rather than assuming one edit will work everywhere.
Identify additional story angles/cuts during the edit and flag them proactively to producers and editors.
Maintain organised project files, naming conventions, source material and archives so valuable footage can be found and reused quickly across the organisation.
Work across studio, events and rapid response
Support studio productions, remote contributions, live programmes, political events and location shoots as required by the schedule.
Be prepared to shift quickly from planned long-form work to breaking news edits or urgent clips when the political agenda suddenly changes.
Collaborate effectively with engineering, producers and editors to solve problems and deliver the best possible result with the available time and resources.
Understand the need for resilient workflows around live and high-profile output, including recording discipline and careful handling of source material.
Bring strong editorial and legal judgement
Approach edits as a journalist and storyteller as well as a technician, protecting context, accuracy and the meaning of what contributors actually said.
Understand copyright, fair dealing, contributor permissions, privacy, defamation and other legal/compliance issues relevant to video and escalate uncertainty appropriately.
Treat sensitive, embargoed or unpublished footage with discretion and follow access and security procedures.
Use performance to improve your craft
Review how your work performs and learn from watch time, retention, completion, engagement and platform-specific audience signals.
A/B test different titles, thumbnails and openings where appropriate, using evidence to sharpen decisions.
Performance and Standards:
- Communicate progress, blockers and delivery times clearly so producers can plan confidently and handovers remain reliable.
- Be open to feedback and continuously improve speed and quality to have greater impact.
- Take fair ownership of early, late and weekend work as part of the wider seven-day production rota.
- Pitch formats, edits, visual treatments, recurring social ideas and production improvements rather than waiting passively for instructions.
- Bring a strong interest in British politics and current affairs so you can recognise the issues and personalities most likely to matter to audiences.
- Work professionally with political figures, guests, journalists and external contributors and understand the discretion expected inside a political organisation.
THE PERSON
We're looking for technically strong, fast and ambitious video editors who care about the details and want their work to have measurable impact at national scale.
Essential experience and capabilities

- Excellent practical editing skills in industry-standard software, with speed and confidence handling long-form timelines and rapid social cuts.
- A sharp eye for detail across sound, captions, graphics and the final technical delivery of assets.
- Good editorial judgement and storytelling instincts, including the ability to identify the strongest moments from political/current-affairs material.
- Ability to work quickly under pressure, handle multiple edits and adapt fast when breaking news changes the schedule.
- Results-driven mindset and interest in using analytics such as watch time, retention and engagement to make better creative decisions.
- Good organisation and file-management discipline, including project structure, media handling, version control and archive hygiene.
- Awareness of copyright, fair dealing, privacy, defamation and contributor issues relevant to digital video.
- Strong communication and team-working skills with producers, editors, technical staff and other digital colleagues.
- A genuine interest in British politics and comfort working professionally and discreetly inside a mission-led political organisation.
- Willingness to work full-time from Reform UK's Westminster HQ and flex around shoots, live output, breaking news and rota requirements, including evenings and weekends.
Highly desirable
- Experience producing as well as editing, including planning interviews, shoots, scripts or running orders.
- Experience with multi-camera edits, compelling packages, documentaries, explainers, live event coverage and premium long-form YouTube production.
- Experience creating high-performing platform-native vertical video for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or YouTube Shorts.
- Practical camera, lighting, sound, motion-graphics or thumbnail/visual-design skills in addition to core editing ability.
- Evidence of edits, formats or creative changes that materially improved audience performance or helped a channel grow.
Why join Reform UK?
This is a chance to make ambitious video inside a new national political operation with a strong studio, a large and growing audience and a mandate to originate genuinely brilliant content. Good ideas and strong execution will be visible quickly.
