John Howard Society of Okanagan & Kootenay is seeking an HR & Administrative Coordinator to join our team in Kelowna, BC. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional organizational and administrative skills who enjoys supporting people, processes, and projects. While direct experience in Human Resources is an asset, it is not required. We are looking for someone with a strong administrative foundation, excellent attention to detail, initiative, and a willingness to learn. About the Position As the HR & Administrative Coordinator, you will support a wide range of human resources and administrative functions that help keep our organization running smoothly. You'll work closely with the Human Resources Advisor and leadership team to coordinate recruitment, onboarding, employee documentation, training administration, reporting, and operational projects. This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong planning, communication, and follow-through skills. No two days are exactly the same, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and taking ownership of important organizational processes. Key Responsibilities · Coordinate recruitment activities, including screening, interviews, candidate communications, and reference checks. · Prepare employment agreements, job descriptions, onboarding packages, and employee documentation. · Support new hire onboarding and orientation processes. · Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and personnel files. · Assist with benefits administration, employee enrollment, and HR reporting. · Monitor employee training requirements and coordinate training activities. · Help develop and improve HR processes, procedures, and resources. · Collaborate on identifying and resolving employee-related issues. · Track deadlines and ensure required information is completed on time. · Support leadership with administrative projects and continuous improvement initiatives. · Assist with policy, procedure, and document development. · Provide occasional support for payroll and other operational functions.
