Custom Assembler
Position Summary
The Assembler, Custom / Cabinet Builder is responsible for constructing, assembling, and preparing high-quality custom cabinetry and millwork products according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role requires strong woodworking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build custom products that meet customers and project requirements. The Custom Cabinet Builder plays a critical role in delivering the craftsmanship and quality that define Bell Cabinetry & Design Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and assemble custom cabinetry, casework, panels, drawers, doors, and specialty millwork components.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, cut lists, and production specifications.
- Verify dimensions, materials, and component accuracy before and during construction.
- Utilize woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform fitting, trimming, drilling, sanding, and assembly operations to complete custom products.
- Install hardware, drawer slides, hinges, and specialty accessories as required.
- Ensure finished products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve construction or fit issues during the build process.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Finishing, and Production teams to ensure project success.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow company safety procedures and manufacture best practices.
- Meet productivity, quality, and attendance expectations.
- Assist with packaging, staging, and preparation of completed products for shipment when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cabinet building, woodworking, carpentry, millwork, or related manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience using woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools.
- Strong measuring, layout, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced woodworking and cabinet-building skills.
- Ability to work from detailed drawings and specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and lift throughout the workday.
- Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds; team lifting may be required for heavier items.
- Ability to use hands and arms continuously to operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, dust, wood particles, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
This position operates in a custom cabinetry manufacturing environment. The Custom Cabinet Builder works with a variety of materials, tools, and equipment to create high-quality custom products while maintaining Bell Cabinetry & Design Center's standards for craftsmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.
