The People Operations Coordinator, India is a hands-on People Operations and workplace partner supporting BusPatrol’s growing India organization. This role will serve as a key on-the-ground office manager and People Operations support resource, helping create a reliable, welcoming, and productive employee experience for India-based employees.
This role will provide day-to-day support across office operations, employee lifecycle processes, new hire readiness, onboarding, People data, documentation, and employee questions. A significant focus of the role will be partnering closely with IT and People team members to troubleshoot issues, coordinate equipment and access, and ensure new hires have a seamless setup and onboarding experience from offer acceptance through their first days at BusPatrol.
The People Operations Coordinator, India will report to the Director, People Operations and work closely with the India Talent Partner, People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, IT, Finance, Legal, and local and global business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
India Office & Workplace Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for day-to-day India office operations, employee needs, vendors, and workplace questions
- Support the setup, opening, and ongoing operation of BusPatrol’s India office, including supplies, access, facilities coordination, vendor follow-up, and workplace readiness
- Help establish clear office processes, documentation, local resources, workplace norms, and escalation paths aligned
- Coordinate with building management, office vendors, IT, and internal stakeholders to resolve workplace issues quickly and maintain a positive employee experience
- Support office events, employee gatherings, onsite meetings, and other activities that strengthen connection and engagement
- Maintain accurate employee location and office information to support workplace planning and local communications
New Hire Setup, IT Partnership, & Onboarding
- Coordinate India new hire readiness from offer acceptance through the first weeks of employment, maintaining accurate start dates, onboarding rosters, and readiness trackers
- Partner closely with People Ops, IT, & hiring teams to coordinate equipment, accounts, system access, device delivery or handoff, and other technical setup needs before a new hire’s start date
- Serve as a local point of contact for basic IT troubleshooting and issue coordination, escalating appropriately while keeping employees and stakeholders informed through resolution
- Confirm that required People, payroll, access, equipment, and onboarding steps are complete before each new hire starts
- Coordinate with Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, People Operations, Finance, IT, and hiring managers to ensure clear handoffs and timely completion of onboarding tasks
- Help deliver a consistent, welcoming, and well-organized onboarding experience for India-based employees
- Identify recurring setup or onboarding issues and recommend improvements to reduce delays, rework, and new hire friction
Employee Lifecycle & People Operations Support
- Support India company policies and guidance, including central documentation, drafting updates, formatting, version control, and publishing to the appropriate hubs and pages
- Provide India compliance support via documentation standards, audit preparation, and adherence to required retention practices
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date People data, including worker, position, and location data
- Generate worker, headcount, and specialized reports to support operational needs, leadership insights, and data-driven decision making
People Programs, Communications, & Self-Service
- Support People Operations projects through scheduling, logistics, documentation, data gathering, and follow-through
- Help maintain India-specific People resources, FAQs, onboarding materials, office information, and employee guidance
- Draft and format clear employee-facing communications, reminders, how-to content, and operational updates
- Help maintain India People resource hubs and self-service materials so employees and managers can find accurate information easily
- Track questions, recurring issues, and process gaps to help improve intake workflows, response templates, and self-service resources
- Contribute to an AI-forward approach to documentation, process improvement, and employee support while applying sound judgment around privacy and sensitive People information
Reporting, Process Improvement, & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Maintain basic trackers and reports related to onboarding readiness, office operations, People activity, equipment, access, and employee support requests
- Follow and improve established processes and service-level expectations while helping identify opportunities to improve speed, accuracy, and consistency
- Coordinate across India and U.S.-based teams, including flexibility for key meetings and time-sensitive onboarding or IT issues
- Build strong working relationships with IT, People, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Finance, Legal, managers, and external vendors
- Support the creation and maintenance of regional standard work, checklists, and process documentation as the India organization grows
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, workplace operations, office management, recruiting coordination, or a related role.
- Experience supporting employees, office operations, onboarding, HR processes, or administrative workflows in a high-growth or multi-location environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience partnering with IT or another technical support function to coordinate equipment, systems access, troubleshooting, or employee setup is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with India workplace operations, local employment practices, or regional vendor coordination is preferred.
- Comfort working with HRIS, ticketing systems, collaboration tools, spreadsheets, and basic reporting processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, friendly, and responsive employee support.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and escalate sensitive matters appropriately.
- Comfortable operating independently in a growing organization while collaborating with global teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Expectations
- Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India (Hybrid, in-person role)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours, with flexibility to support key U.S. time zone alignment calls and time-sensitive onboarding or IT needs
- Travel: None expected
- Reports To: Director, People Operations
- Manages Others: No direct reports; may coordinate with vendors, office partners, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience: 4-6 years of People Operations, HR Operations, workplace operations, office management, or related coordination experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
