About the role

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR - LOS ANGELES (FASHION DISTRICT) You must live in the L.A. area to apply for this job - no need to apply if you live in another state or overseas. Svetness Corp is seeking a group fitness instructor who will lead members, in a group environment, through safe and effective fitness classes for a company located in the fashion district of Los Angeles. This position is responsible for providing group exercise fitness instruction and supervision in a variety of formats. Candidates must be able to instruct multiple fitness levels and ensure the safety of all patrons in the class. This person will enforce all building policies pertaining to group exercise and be able to communicate these to a diverse group of patrons why policies are in place. The instructor will serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of fitness and wellness, and are responsible in ensuring that safety of the members is not compromised. A group fitness instructor will act as a role model and resource for all patrons and staff. The class will be made up of first time group fitness instructors and will most likely have 5 to 6 people attending the class. There is some equipment in the building that can be used and they are willing to purchase other small equipment if needed. The class will start will low impact exercises. The class will be held every Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and the building is located in the 900 block of East 10th Street, LA (Fashion District). The instructor must always be on time and there is free  parking onsite. Candidates must hold a current, nationally accredited group fitness certification and demonstrate a strong passion for motivating and supporting participants in achieving their health and wellness goals. Our group fitness program emphasizes professionalism, evidence-based practices, and a high-energy environment. Responsibilities include leading safe and engaging group fitness classes, creating class formats for different fitness levels, and providing ongoing encouragement and instruction to participants. Duties include: - Ability to lead welcoming, engaging, and safe group fitness classes for a large student population, including individuals of varying abilities and fitness levels. - Proficiency in modifying exercises and adapting programming in real-time to meet. participants' needs while supporting a safe environment. - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Clear and effective verbal communication skills to deliver instruction, motivation, and feedback in a group setting. - Commitment to maintaining a consistent teaching schedule and communicating in advance regarding absences or coverage needs. - Dependable and punctual. - Physical ability to demonstrate exercises, stand for extended periods, and safely lift and move equipment (minimum of 45 lbs. overhead). - Dedication to ongoing professional development and maintenance of a current, nationally recognized group fitness certification (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NETA, NFPA). - Enthusiasm for contributing to a positive, student-centered fitness culture focused on wellness, belonging, and personal growth. Minimum Qualifications One year of experience preferred but Minimum Qualifications One year of experience preferred but not required, of actively leading successful dance classes in group fitness setting. Current Group Fitness and CPR/AED certification and must maintain certification throughout employment. Certified to lead group fitness class Desired Qualifications - Valid nationally accredited group fitness certification and/or license in the format of instruction. - Current CPR/ AED/ First Aid certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire)
