Data Scientist (Senior)

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Reston, Virginia, SOSi is a private defense and government solutions business specializing in advanced technology systems and mission support. Its capabilities include data science, software development, network engineering, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), and logistics. *Position is contingent upon contract award* SOSi is seeking a Data Scientist to support our government customer in Chantilly, VA. Essential Job Duties - serves as a key technical resource for advanced statistical methods, ML algorithm selection, and enterprise data strategy. - Active in scope TS/SCI w/ Poly. - Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience. - Proficiency with major data science tools and languages such as PostgreSQL/SQL, Python, R, NiFi, and Git. - Experience with cleaning, managing, optimizing performance with, and processing large volumes of data. - Familiarity with industry best practices for software/hardware optimization when processing large data sets. - Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, and/or geospatial analytics. - Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or other parallel storage/computing processes. - Experience providing services to develop AI/ML models and weights to facilitate object detection, data triage, search/optimization, inference, and automated discovery and decision making.
