Title:  Junior Environmental Engineer Location:  Madison, WI Job Type:  Regular Full-time   What’s the Opportunity? We are seeking an early-career Engineer or Scientist to join our Madison, Wisconsin team. This position is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or professional with up to two years of experience who is interested in contaminated sediment remediation, environmental site investigation, and data-driven problem solving. The successful candidate will work alongside senior engineers and scientists on multidisciplinary environmental projects. Responsibilities will include supporting field investigations, evaluating environmental data, conducting statistical and geospatial analyses, and helping develop clear technical conclusions and deliverables. Approximately 30% of the position will involve fieldwork with travel depending on project needs.   Responsibilities: - Support senior engineers and scientists with the evaluation and interpretation of environmental, chemical, physical, and geospatial data - Assist with contaminated sediment and environmental site investigations, including planning, field coordination, sample collection, documentation, and data management - Perform data quality reviews, statistical analyses, and exploratory data evaluations - Develop maps, figures, tables, and other visualizations using GIS and related analytical tools - Utilize tools such as Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) for engineering and other analysis - Support geospatial modeling and the interpretation of spatial trends - Contribute to feasibility studies, remedial investigations, design evaluations, and other contaminated sediment remediation work - Assist with preparing technical memoranda, reports, presentations, and client deliverables - Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and communicate technical information clearly - Follow company health and safety procedures during field and office activities - Travel to project sites and perform fieldwork approximately 30% of the time   What Are We Looking For? Ideal candidates will have the following: - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental, civil, chemical, geological, or related engineering; environmental science; geology; chemistry; statistics; data science; or a related discipline - Zero to two years of relevant professional, internship, or academic research experience - Curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both field observations and complex datasets - ArcGIS or CAD experience preferred - Small vessel operator certification a plus - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) - Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills - 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred; may be provided upon hire)   What Can You Expect?
