About the Role The Senior Director, Client Success leads client experience strategy and team performance across the full account portfolio. This role owns the strategic direction, financial performance, and long-term retention of Datavant’s client relationships across every tier, while building and scaling the talent, governance, and processes that enable the broader Client Success organization to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes. The Senior Director partners with executive stakeholders, internally and externally, up to the C-suite, to translate market, regulatory, and competitive insight into proactive strategy, and serves as a strategic connector across Sales, Product, Operations, and Technology. What You Will Do Strategic Thinking & Solutioning - Guide strategy across accounts within your scope aligning client roadmaps to Datavant corporate and Business Unit priorities. - Anticipate market shifts, regulatory changes, and competitive pressures, translating insight into proactive, scalable strategies. - Guide the team in prioritizing high-impact initiatives, balancing financial performance, operational feasibility, and long-term client value. - Identify and act as a change agent for business process improvements — leveraging process engineering, AI, Business Intelligence, and Third-Party Organization (TPO) partnerships to drive transformation. Leadership Excellence - Lead, coach, and develop a team of CSMs, Senior CSMs, and Managers, setting a clear vision and driving alignment across large, complex teams. - Build scalable talent strategies, succession plans, and performance standards that elevate the broader Client Success organization. - Engage regularly with executive stakeholders, internally and externally, influencing outcomes and serving as a strategic connector across functions. - Excel at talent acquisition, including onboarding and retention, to continually raise the talent bar. Client Experience Management & Influential Communication - Own executive relationships across the account portfolio, acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders up to the C-suite. - Oversee delivery strategy across implementations, renewals, growth, and escalations, ensuring a consistent, high-quality client experience. - Coach leaders to deliver compelling executive presentations, manage change effectively, and drive alignment through clear, outcome-focused communication. Business & Industry Acumen (Growth-Oriented) - Apply deep healthcare, risk adjustment, and retrieval expertise to shape client strategy and identify expansion opportunities across complex enterprise accounts. - Own full-cycle management of a portfolio of accounts, achieving revenue, retention, and growth goals through effective execution and partnership plans. - Connect industry trends, product capabilities, and financial performance to long-term growth plans; leverage financial awareness to translate strategy into action. - Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Operations leadership to influence roadmap decisions and drive sustainable revenue and retention outcomes. Execution - Be accountable for execution across the full account portfolio ensuring operational efficiency, delivery excellence, and predictable results. - Establish governance models and scalable frameworks that drive consistency across the Business Unit. - Take decisive action to remove systemic barriers, resolve high-impact issues, and ensure commitments translate into measurable client value. Data Driven - Champion a data-driven culture across large portfolios, setting KPIs that align client performance with corporate growth goals. - Use analytics and financial insights to inform strategy, mitigate risk, and optimize outcomes. - Use data to tell a story and deliver compelling, executive-ready presentations that influence key stakeholders. - Coach the team to leverage data effectively, translating complex metrics into clear executive narratives that influence decisions and future direction. What You Will Bring to the Table - 10+ years of progressive experience in client success, account management, or strategic consulting within healthcare, health insurance, or healthcare data/technology, including 5+ years of people leadership managing managers or multi-level teams. - Deep subject-matter expertise in Risk Adjustment and Retrieval processes, SLA frameworks, and the Payer/Provider/Vendor ecosystem; working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy requirements. - Demonstrated success managing executive-level (up to C-suite) relationships within large, complex enterprise accounts. - Proven track record owning revenue, retention, and growth targets for a multi-million-dollar portfolio. - Experience building and scaling talent strategies, succession plans, and performance standards across multi-level teams. - Strong financial acumen; able to translate data and market insight into strategy, investment decisions, and risk mitigation. - Advanced proficiency with data/BI tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, SQL) and the ability to translate complex metrics into executive-ready narratives. - Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and executive communication skills; comfortable driving alignment across Sales, Product, Operations, and Technology leadership. - Demonstrated ability to lead through organizational change, ambiguity, and competing priorities. - BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree a plus. The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job.
