Part Time Nanny/Mother’s Helper – Raymond, ME
A busy family in Raymond, ME 04071 is seeking a reliable, warm, and highly organized Part Time Nanny to assist with childcare and household support. With dad traveling frequently for work, mom needs a dependable partner to help manage the week, transport kids to activities, and keep the home running smoothly. The children are ages 5 and 7.
Schedule:
- 10–20 hours per week (flexible based on candidate availability)
- Core schedule needed: Wednesdays 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM and Thursdays 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM / 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Remainder of hours (laundry, light house management, errands) are flexible and can be scheduled on weekday mornings or afternoons
- Occasional date night coverage (Friday/Saturday evenings 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM or weekend afternoons 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM) once or twice per month
Family Specifications:
- Active home with preschool and/or school-age children
- Caring family environment focused on creating consistent routines and clear boundaries for the children
- Smoke-free home
- Two Chihuahuas in the home
Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging childcare, including planning age-appropriate activities and spending active quality time with the children
- Assist with pick-ups and drop-offs for children's activities
- Maintain routines, manage schedules, and enforce clear boundaries for the children
- Perform house management tasks during non-childcare hours, including laundry (washing, folding, putting away), light cleaning, organizing, and running household errands
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with multiple preschool and/or school-age siblings
- Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, clean driving record, and comfort driving children in all reasonable Maine weather conditions
- Demonstrated house management skills with the ability to self-direct and prioritize tasks independently
- Ability to work in a home with dogs
- Applicants cannot bring their own children to work for this position
Preferred:
- Located in or within an easy commute of the Lakes Region (Raymond, Windham, Casco, Naples, Bridgton, Gray, etc.)
- Willingness to provide overnight coverage 2–3 times per year or occasionally travel with the family (optional bonus, not required)
Compensation:
- $27-$35 per hour (commensurate with experience)
- Paid vacation and paid sick time included
