Medical Coder (Inpatient)

This fully remote role supports inpatient coding operations for Veterans Affairs medical centers across multiple facilities. You will review complex inpatient records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes. The position plays an important role in ensuring compliant documentation, accurate billing, and high-quality health information. You will work with electronic health records and VA-specific systems, following established federal and clinical coding standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound coding judgment, and the ability to meet accuracy and turnaround expectations. You will also investigate coding questions, respond to challenged records, and make corrections when necessary.
