Staff Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Software Engineer based in India. This is a high-ownership engineering role focused on modernizing large-scale software systems while keeping production environments stable and reliable. You will work hands-on across backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and production operations. A key part of the role is incrementally transforming legacy monoliths into scalable, well-bounded services using proven modernization patterns. You will have significant influence over technical direction, architecture, reliability, and engineering practices. The environment values proactive problem-solving, strong technical judgment, and ownership from design through deployment and operations. You will also have the opportunity to use AI-augmented development tools to accelerate engineering, modernization, and problem-solving.
