Job Description
As a Transportation Engineering Leader (Senior Team Leader), you will provide leadership for a team of transportation professionals while helping drive the continued growth and success of Olsson's transportation practice. In this role, you will establish team goals and strategy, oversee project delivery, quality management, client service, business development, and overall financial performance. You will work closely with group leaders to manage staffing, resource planning, and workload priorities while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture that supports employee development and retention. Additionally, you will develop group leaders and key staff, strengthen key client relationships, support strategic pursuits and market growth opportunities, and identify new opportunities that align with firmwide initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proven transportation leader who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills and is passionate about developing people while delivering high-quality transportation solutions.
Qualifications

You bring to the team:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE).
- Minimum of ten (10) years of transportation engineering experience.
- Must have at least six (6) years of experience supervising technical personnel.
- Experience leading transportation projects for state DOTs, counties, municipalities, and other public agencies.
- Demonstrated success developing and maintaining relationships with transportation clients and agency stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of transportation design software such as OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience supporting business development efforts, including client strategy, proposal development, and project pursuits.
