As Marketing Coordinator, you will lead a skilled team of marketing, design and business support professionals and help shape how the City promotes its services, projects and priorities. This role combines strategic marketing leadership with practical accountability for significant corporate and place-based projects. You will lead assigned projects from planning through to implementation and evaluation, advise senior stakeholders and use research and evidence to improve the City’s marketing investment and impact. You will oversee marketing campaigns, brand governance, graphic design, corporate publications, branded signage, print and other creative services. Working with the Service Lead and Manager where required, you will help prioritise available resources towards activity that best supports Council, community and organisational priorities. Current priorities may include marketing and brand requirements for the Scarborough Beach precinct, corporate publications, implementing findings from marketing effectiveness research, and overseeing print, signage, banner and creative supplier arrangements. What you’ll be doing - Lead, support and develop a high-performing Marketing team - Lead assigned corporate and strategic marketing projects from identification and planning through to implementation and evaluation - Provide expert marketing and brand advice aligned with Council priorities, community expectations, corporate objectives and the City’s desired reputation - Lead integrated annual marketing planning and prioritisation using audience insights, available resources and evaluation findings - Oversee marketing campaigns, major corporate publications, graphic design, branded signage and related creative services - Lead the governance and ongoing development of the City’s brand architecture, visual identity, messaging and positioning - Commission and oversee marketing effectiveness research, translate findings into recommendations and lead agreed improvements - Manage project scope, budgets, suppliers, risks, approvals and stakeholder expectations - Oversee assigned contracts, systems, publications and brand implementation activities, ensuring governance, value for money and service continuity - Improve marketing workflows, systems and service standards, and implement agreed service review, audit and process improvements - Build productive relationships across the City and work closely with the Communications and Digital teams to support coordinated delivery.Business units retain accountability for project ownership, technical accuracy, subject matter content, approvals and required budgets. What you’ll bring We are looking for a strategic and collaborative marketing leader who can translate organisational and community priorities into evidence-based strategies, projects and measurable outcomes. You will bring: - a relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, business or communications, or substantial equivalent experience - extensive experience leading successful teams in a marketing environment - demonstrated experience managing substantial and complex marketing projects - strong planning, decision-making, budget and financial management skills - excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder relationship skills - sound judgement and confidence managing competing priorities, contentious issues and change - experience improving frameworks, processes, systems or technology-enabled workflows - a current C Class driver’s licence.Experience in local government, the public sector or another large and complex organisation will be highly regarded. Additional information This is a full-time, permanent role classified under Level 9 of the City's Inside Workforce Agreement (plus a 12% superannuation guarantee).
