We're a team of curious, optimistic and courageous individuals who collaborate to make life better for more Australians. We value authenticity, and agility, and we believe in creating an environment where you can do your best work, grow your career, and feel part of something meaningful. If you're looking for a place where your ideas matter, where innovation is celebrated, and where you can help shape a brighter financial future, join us at Netwealth. The opportunity This is a visible leadership role at the centre of Technology, Security, Risk and Audit. You will own the technology governance framework, coordinate Line 1 technology risk and compliance activities, lead major assurance programmes and turn complex findings into clear decisions for senior executives, committees and the Board. You will lead and develop a small governance team while working across Technology to reinforce a simple principle: operational teams own their risks and controls, and governance provides the structure, challenge, assurance and insight that help them succeed. WHAT YOU’LL OWN - Lead and continually improve Netwealth’s technology governance framework, keeping policies, standards, procedures and controls aligned with prudential requirements, enterprise risk settings and the evolving Technology Operating Model. - Own the Line 1 compliance programme for CPS 230 and CPS 234, including obligation and control mapping, evidence management, gap assessment and remediation oversight. - Coordinate the annual SOC 2 assurance programme and support other internal, external and regulatory reviews from scope confirmation through to the closure of findings. - Maintain a current, evidence-based view of technology risks, controls, findings and compliance obligations through Protecht or an equivalent GRC platform. - Provide governance oversight of business continuity and Technology Disaster Recovery, while keeping operational ownership clearly placed with the relevant business and technology leaders. - Produce concise, decision-ready risk, compliance and assurance reporting for senior executives, governance committees and the Board. - Monitor regulatory and industry change, assess its implications early and translate new expectations into practical governance and control improvements. - Lead, coach and develop the Technology Governance team, building capability and reducing dependency on any one person. THE IMPACT YOU’LL HAVE You will help move technology governance beyond periodic compliance activity towards continuous ownership, assurance and informed decision-making. Success will mean that risk and control information is current, audit evidence is available without last-minute intervention, material issues are escalated early and leaders receive the insight they need to make sound decisions. You will also help technology teams see strong governance not as a separate administrative process, but as part of delivering secure, resilient and trustworthy outcomes for Netwealth’s customers. WHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED - Substantial experience in technology governance, IT risk or technology compliance, including direct accountability for a regulatory or assurance programme. - Strong practical knowledge of CPS 234 and CPS 230 and the ability to apply prudential requirements in a financial services or similarly regulated environment. - Experience coordinating concurrent internal audits, external assurance engagements and regulatory reviews. - The judgement to assess control evidence, identify gaps and constructively challenge technical and senior stakeholders without needing to be a hands-on engineering or security practitioner. - Excellent written communication, including experience preparing clear, accurate and credible risk papers, committee reporting, management responses or regulatory submissions. - Strong stakeholder leadership, with evidence of creating accountability and progress across teams you do not directly manage. - People leadership experience and a commitment to coaching, capability development and sustainable ways of working.
