Senior Backend Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own COMO's data engine: the cloud-native system that turns raw cloud and backup telemetry into recoverability posture, scores, and the findings our customers act on. It's a live SaaS product running across millions of assets per customer, and most of what the product shows comes out of it. You'll take features from a rough goal to shipped and monitored, working directly with the CTO and product, and own how they behave in production. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build and own core pipeline services end to end: collection from AWS, Azure, and backup vendors, processing, storage, and the APIs the product is built on - Build the posture and detection logic: recoverability scoring, RTO/RPO estimation, and findings across cloud and backup environments - Design for multi-tenant SaaS scale: millions of assets per organization and continuous, event-driven collection - Engineer for the failure modes that matter: idempotency, backpressure, partial failure, and never quietly losing data - Raise the engineering bar: reviews, patterns, and mentoring, using AI tooling throughout the development lifecycle WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 5+ years of experience in a Backend Engineering role on a production SaaS product, in any major language (Python, Go, Node, Java, or C#) - Strong hands-on cloud experience (AWS or Azure): building and running services in production on cloud infrastructure, including cloud APIs and SDKs - Experience with data-intensive or event-driven systems at scale: streaming, queues, or batch pipelines - Experience owning a significant system end to end: design, production, and operation - Ability to ship under-defined features: fill the gaps with judgment and a quick question, not a blocked ticket - Cybersecurity or B2B SaaS startup background - advantage OUR STACK Python, FastAPI, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Polars, GraphQL, AWS and Azure SDKs, Kubernetes, Nx monorepo, with an AI-native workflow throughout.
