Company operating name: WJ Groundwater Canada Ltd.   Company business address: 253-250 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto, ON, M4R 1A7.   Title of the position: Water Management Engineer (NOC 21300)    Job duties:   - Identify and following up new business leads - ensuring enquiries are logged and responded to, including organizing site and client visits. - Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements. - Conduct technical analyses of survey, field data, and construction design drawings. - Evaluate and recommend an appropriate technical solution for the project as per standard water management engineering calculations. - Plan, design, and cost dewatering, unwatering, and by-pass pumping systems. - Develop specifications and ‘dewatering plans’ for dewatering, unwatering, and by-pass pumping systems, - Ensure designs meet any local (or other applicable) regulatory requirements related to taking and discharging water, - Propose appropriate monitoring solutions for dewatering, unwater, and bypass pumping projects, - Propose, plan, contract, and supervise subcontracted site investigation work. - Act as the key point of contact for clients throughout the design and tender process. - Develop and implement strategies for following up quotations, maintaining contact with the client and tracking the progress of technical and commercial proposals. - Negotiate contracts, terms and conditions, methodologies, attendances and change orders. - Review costs and sales performance and present data at management and sales meetings. - To be responsible for own health and safety and that of colleagues in accordance with current construction guidance and relevant national legislation for our activities.   Terms of employment: Permanent, Full-Time    The language of work: English   Wage: $86,500.00 per annum   Benefits package being offered: Health benefits, life insurance, disability insurance, healthcare spending account, employer-matched retirement savings plan.    Location of work: Toronto, Ontario    Contact information to apply for the job: Claudia Tai, [email protected]   Skills requirements: - Required education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or in a related engineering discipline (ex: geotechnical, water systems, hydrogeological). - A relentless enthusiasm and tenacity to pursue commercial opportunities. - A firm understanding of Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Civil Engineering. - The ability to plan and organize own workload. - Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while working with complex information and precise details. - Understanding of business development and marketing strategies. - Commercial awareness, ideally including knowledge of construction industry contracts. - Competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD. - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complicated and sensitive concepts, both verbally and written, is an essential requirement. - Resourcefulness, initiative, and the ability to work unsupervised - Experience with pumping equipment and water treatment is considered an asset.   Required work experience: - Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the construction industry in a similar role. - Minimum 7 years’ experience related to civil engineering.
