About the role
DatabricksAzureSQLETLCI/CDPythonSparkPower BI
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to strengthen our data team in the financial services industry. You'll take ownership of end-to-end data solutions on Azure and Databricks, shape how we model and govern data across Bolder Group, and act as a technical reference point for less experienced colleagues.
This role suits a professional who works independently, gives shape to ideas and concepts, and takes care of the implementation and improvement of data sources — with only sporadic feedback needed.
What you'll do
- Own data pipelines end-to-end – Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, clean, transform, and load data from various sources into Azure data stores and Databricks clusters using Python, SQL, and PySpark.
- Design data models & the Enterprise Dimensional Model – Build models that support a single source of truth and are optimized for Power BI and downstream analytics.
- Architect data solutions on Azure – Translate business requirements into scalable solutions using Databricks, Data Lake Storage, SQL Database, and Logic Apps.
- Data management & governance – Champion data quality practices, master/reference data, data catalogue, and data publishing; help implement governance and security controls across Bolder's data platform.
- Performance, cost & CI/CD optimization – Continuously monitor and improve pipeline performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, and apply CI/CD best practices to data pipeline development, including version control, automated testing, and deployment.
- Coach & mentor – Guide junior data engineers, review their work, and share knowledge across the team.
- Innovation – Identify improvement opportunities, contribute to setting them up, and drive their implementation.
