Sanitarian

Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree, ideally with course work in environmental health, public health, biology, sanitary engineering or related field required. - Ability to conduct Phase 1 and Phase 2 subsurface sewage evaluation. - State of Connecticut Certification in Food Service Inspection. - Minimum of two years of field experience in environmental health and enforcement of environmental health laws and regulations. - Registered Sanitarian preferred. - Lead certification preferred. Essential Functions: - Performs routine inspections of regulated facilities including food service establishments, public pools, salons and day care facilities. - Investigates a wide variety of environmental complaints. - Performs plan reviews. - Performs subsurface sewage plan review, related field work and inspections.
