About the role

AccessibilityTechnical Writing
What We're Building Mansfield Hall is a living and learning community for neurodivergent college students, students who are capable of college but not yet fully ready for total independence. We organize the work around four areas: Living (independent living skills), Learning (academic and executive functioning), Giving (community involvement), and Engaging (social and emotional growth). The Connections Program is the next step toward independence, and Case Managers are the people who hold it together. You're the central point in each student's support network, coordinating across families, campus offices, and our own teams so that every part of a student's plan is pointed in the same direction. What You'll Actually Do - Manage a caseload of Connections students, coordinating individualized support across academics, independent living, and community engagement - Lead weekly 1:1 coaching sessions focused on executive functioning, academic performance, and independent living - Build and track annual Student MAPs (Making Action Plans) with students and their Circle of Support, adjusting strategies as students grow - Guide students through course selection, registration, withdrawals, disability and accessibility services, and decisions about self-disclosure under ADA and FERPA - Coach on life skills like routines, time management, budgeting, cooking, and cleaning, including regular visits to student apartments and facilitating apartment meetings - Support professional readiness through job exploration, internships, and workplace communication coaching - Serve as a consistent point of contact for families and campus partners, writing scheduled progress reports, mid-year evaluations, and end-of-year reports - Support structured study times, Connections events, trips, and seminars, and help onboard new students into the program Why This Might Not Be the Job for You - You'd rather solve a problem for a student than coach them through solving it themselves - You prefer working one-on-one and find coordinating with families, campus offices, and multiple teams draining - You struggle to keep detailed documentation current while juggling a full caseload - You're uncomfortable giving stakeholders honest, strengths-based updates when progress is uneven - You want a job that stays strictly within your title and a fixed office schedule What You Bring - Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, education, or a related field - One to three years of experience in case management, academic support, life coaching, or transition programs for young adults - Strong working knowledge of student development, neurodiversity, and strategies for college success - Clear, independent written communication, since many family reports go out without managerial review - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning student database tools - A valid driver's license and personal vehicle to meet students in their apartments, on campus, and around Burlington Schedule This is a full-time, hourly position. Although the role supports students throughout the community, it is fully on-site and requires daily in-person attendance; remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.  The schedule for training will take place Monday through Friday during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Following training, this position's schedule will be based on program and student needs and may include evenings and/or weekends. Schedules may be adjusted over time as the needs of the program change. Applicants should have flexibility to work outside of traditional business hours. You'll also take part in an overnight on-call rotation, and during summer and other low-census periods you'll step into shared duties across Mansfield Hall programs, things like breakfast duty, coach shifts, cleaning, and apartment meetings. We're telling you this up front on purpose. You should know exactly what the work looks like before you apply, not after. Compensation & Benefits This role pays $26.00/hr. - Medical insurance, with the premium cost shared between Mansfield Hall and the employee, plus an HSA option - Employer-funded wellness dollars - Free meals and drinks during your shift - 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% employer match - Paid time off, plus paid winter break - Disability and life insurance coverage - Volunteer time off  - Wellness dollars to support your health and wellbeing. How We Interview We believe candidates and Mansfield Hall both do better with the fullest possible picture of each other, so it's common for three to four people to be part of your interview process. That's not meant to be intimidating, it's meant to give everyone real information before anyone commits. - A 30 minute phone screen - One to two structured interviews, in person or virtual depending on availability and geographic location - Reference and background checks - An offer
