About the Position
As Qumulo’s Regional Sales Director for the Southeast (SE), you will lead the go-to-market strategy and execution across a defined regional territory (including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC metro), driving revenue growth, developing key customer and partner relationships, and empowering your team to consistently exceed sales targets.
We are looking for an experienced sales leader who combines a track record of exceeding quotas with strong business acumen, executive presence, and a passion for developing people. You are comfortable navigating complex enterprise sales cycles, challenging conventional thinking, and building trusted relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
You will own the Southeast region as a business: setting strategy, developing talent, inspecting pipeline, driving forecast accuracy, and creating a culture of accountability and high performance. You will work closely with cross-functional leaders across Qumulo to accelerate opportunities, expand strategic accounts, and deliver exceptional value to customers.
This opportunity has significant earning potential, backed by an industry-leading compensation plan. You will have an outsized impact on Qumulo’s growth by leading a regional sales organization in a key expansion territory, strengthening our presence across major markets (such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, Nashville, and Miami), and building a team that consistently delivers outstanding net-new logo results.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of Enterprise Account Executives across the Southeast region to foster a high-performance sales culture. Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship on prospecting, territory planning, complex deal strategy, negotiation, and closing techniques. Personally recruit top-tier AE talent from your regional network.
- Pipeline Generation & Ownership: Drive self-sourced regional pipeline creation with limited reliance on marketing or partners. Ensure reps act as primary drivers of deal urgency and lead customer relationships in front of channel partners.
- Revenue Targets & Execution: Drive the team to achieve and exceed quarterly and annual net-new ARR revenue targets for Qumulo's hybrid file and object data platform across both on-prem and cloud consumption models (CNQ, ANQ).
- Territory Strategy & Vertical Targeting: Develop and execute a comprehensive regional strategy targeting enterprise and high-growth data-intensive industries dominant in the Southeast (such as Financial Services, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Media & Digital Content, Manufacturing, and Technology).
- Strategic Alliance Collaboration: Build joint go-to-market strategies and co-sell execution with key strategic alliance partners including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud (GCP), OCI, and Cisco.
- Executive Engagement: Personally engage in key executive-level customer meetings (C-suite, VP of Infrastructure/Data Strategy) to sponsor, position value outside traditional infrastructure teams, and close complex $750K+ ACV enterprise deals.
Qualifications
- Management Experience: 5+ years of successful sales management experience leading a quota-carrying field sales team focused on enterprise commercial accounts, with a proven track record of managing direct-report AEs.
- Field Sales Experience & Regional Network: 8+ years of progressive enterprise software, SaaS, Cloud, or storage infrastructure sales experience, with an established network of enterprise buyer contacts, partners, and AE candidates across key Southeast markets (Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Miami, Nashville).
- Domain Expertise: Proven expertise in selling enterprise file/object data storage, data management, cloud infrastructure, or high-performance computing (HPC/AI) solutions to commercial enterprise buyers.
- Complex Deal Execution: Demonstrated ability to drive multi-buyer enterprise deals ($750K+ ACV) involving economic, technical, user, and champion buyers outside traditional IT infrastructure teams.
- Hybrid Cloud & On-Prem Motion: Experience selling consumption/cloud motions (AWS, Azure, GCP) alongside traditional on-prem hardware/software solutions.
The annual On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this role is USD $400,000 with uncapped commissions, strong accelerators, and benefits including pre-IPO equity Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills.
