Mid. ERP Consultant (Vertex)

Compensation: ~$8,682.42/month Contract Period: 1 year Work Location: Plano, Texas Duties and Responsibilities: - Maintain the Vertex system, including tax rule setup and tax calculation verification. - Support Vertex system version management. - Analyze customer requirements and tailor the use of the system to meet those objectives. - Develop project plans and timelines to successfully deploy solutions and assist with data conversion; perform unit or integration testing as needed. - Provide full support to users across all relevant sites in the USA. Identify and understand end-user technical requirements, provide necessary training and documentation, build and maintain strong end-user relationships, and provide ongoing support. - Support and communicate with HQ regarding the implementation, management, and optimization of new and existing SAP processes related to tax changes, as needed to meet customer requirements. - Proactively formulate process improvements based on support issues to minimize recurring support needs. - Provide strategic guidance to users in defining or designing processes to meet customer requirements; document existing customer business processes, identify inefficiencies, recommend system improvements, and provide backup support for Vertex consultants as needed. - Monitor and report on the status of issues, proactively review and interpret performance against operating standards, and provide information and reports on results. - Serve as the primary on-call support person for troubleshooting and resolving system issues. Technical Competencies: - Full-lifecycle Vertex implementation, especially integration with SAP. - Experience with sales and use tax processes. - Solution design, implementation, and post-implementation support. - Creation and execution of test plans, testing, and results tracking. - Development of training materials and documentation. Management Competencies: - Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen collaborative relationships with internal and external partners who can provide information, assistance, and support. - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills demonstrated through teamwork, understanding of business and customer requirements, and effective communication. - Willingness to challenge established practices, draw relevant conclusions, and demonstrate persistence and a willingness to take calculated risks within the organization. - Ability to understand customer priorities and work toward accomplishing them. - Ability to perform under pressure or in crisis situations and make sound decisions to resolve problems. - Ability to manage time and attention based on assigned job roles and objectives. - Korean and English bilingual proficiency required. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with an information technology focus. - 2–5 years of experience as a process consultant or in a similar role. - Full-lifecycle implementation experience with Vertex or a similar US tax system. - Strong knowledge of US tax processes. - Knowledge and experience delivering projects within an Agile framework. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - In-depth technical knowledge of SAP. - Project management experience involving conceptualization, organization, planning, test execution, user training, and documentation of training materials. - Demonstrated experience and understanding of the system development life cycle, application development dynamics, and information technology practices and methods. - Korean and English bilingual proficiency is a plus.
