About the role
ObservabilityNetworkingExcelCybersecurity
Arctiq is a global, intelligence-driven technology services company delivering professional and managed services across Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure, Networking & Connected Experiences, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, Autonomous Operations & Intelligence, and Enterprise Service Management. We help organizations operate, secure, and modernize complex environments by unifying infrastructure, networking, data, security, automation, and observability under a single, integrated operating model. Our work focuses on helping customers reduce operational friction, improve resilience, and make better, faster decisions as their environments evolve. Arctiq builds on decades of industry expertise and a customer-centric ethos to deliver exceptional value to clients across diverse industries.
This is a temporary, assignment, starting ASAP-December 31st, with one of Arctiq's clients located in Knoxville, TN. Candidates must be comfortable going onsite daily in Knoxville.
We are hiring an entry-level PC/Desktop Technician to reimage and prepare computers for our users. You will follow a documented script and checklist to wipe, image, and configure each machine, then confirm it works before it is handed off. This is a hands-on, process-driven role. It does not require advanced troubleshooting or deep technical knowledge. It is a good fit for a wide-range of candidates, including recent graduates, entry-level or experienced individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Reimage desktops and laptops by following step-by-step scripts and written procedures
- Start imaging jobs, monitor their progress, and complete every step in the documented order
- Install standard software and apply approved settings as listed in the checklist
- Run basic checks after each build: the machine boots, connects to the network, and opens required applications
- Do light hardware tasks, such as connecting monitors, keyboards, and docking stations, and swapping a drive or RAM module when instructed
- Label, tag, and log each device, and update the tracking sheet or ticketing system
- Pack, stage, and move finished equipment to the right location
- Flag any step that fails or any unexpected behavior to a senior technician instead of improvising
- Keep the work area clean and organized
Qualifications
Required
- A recent degree in a technology-related field, or possesses an industry certification or at least six months of technical experience (help desk, internship, lab work, retail tech support, or similar)
- Basic familiarity with Windows and general computer hardware (ports, drives, memory)
- Ability to read and follow written instructions exactly, step by step
- Comfort using a keyboard, mouse, and simple tracking tools such as spreadsheets or a ticketing system
- Clear, friendly communication with teammates and supervisors
Nice to have
- Exposure to imaging or deployment tools (for example, SCCM/MECM, Intune/Autopilot, or Ghost)
- CompTIA A+ or similar entry-level certification
- Previous experience in a lab, warehouse, or other repeatable-process environment
No advanced troubleshooting, scripting, or networking knowledge is needed. Training on our tools and procedures will be provided.
Reliability and Work Expectations
Reliability is the most important quality for this role. Our users depend on machines being ready on time and built the same way every time.
- Arrive on time for every scheduled shift and give notice early if you must be absent
- Follow the script every time, without skipping steps or taking shortcuts
- Complete assigned work by the stated deadline and keep a steady pace through repetitive tasks
- Record your work accurately so others can see what was done to each device
- Speak up promptly when something goes wrong or a step is unclear
- Take care of company equipment and handle devices and data responsibly
Working Conditions
- Work is performed on site
- Regularly lift and carry equipment up to 30 lbs, and stand or sit for extended periods
- Work is repetitive and structured, with a steady flow of devices to process
