Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience performing commercial plumbing service and repair work. - Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary drainage, venting, and gas piping. - Experience troubleshooting plumbing systems and identifying the source of failures. - Familiarity with commercial water heaters, pumps, valves, backflow prevention assemblies, and associated equipment. - Ability to read plumbing drawings and understand applicable plumbing codes. - Experience using common plumbing tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair methods. - Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. - Ability to work independently, manage assigned service calls, and complete work with minimal supervision. - Ability to lift and carry tools and materials, climb ladders, access rooftops, and work in mechanical rooms and other confined or restricted spaces when required. - Willingness to participate in on-call duties and occasional overtime. - Journeyman or Master Plumber license, backflow certification, and OSHA training are preferred. Core Competencies - Technical Troubleshooting - - Identifies the root cause of leaks, drainage issues, pressure problems, equipment failures, and other system deficiencies. - Uses appropriate diagnostic methods, technical information, and field experience to evaluate plumbing systems. - Determines practical and cost-effective repair or replacement solutions. - Quality Workmanship - - Completes repairs and replacements correctly and in accordance with applicable plumbing codes and specifications. - Verifies completed work to ensure systems and equipment are operating properly. - Takes pride in delivering clean, dependable, and professional results. - Customer Service - - Communicates plumbing issues and recommends repairs in a clear, straightforward manner. - Treats customers, their facilities, and property with respect and maintains a clean work area. - Maintains a professional and solutions-focused attitude throughout the service call. - Independent Problem-Solving - - Evaluates service issues and determines the appropriate course of action based on job conditions. - Adapts to unexpected conditions and works through problems without unnecessary supervision. - Recognizes when an issue requires additional technical support, authorization, or resources. - Time & Work Management - - Plans and prioritizes work to manage assigned service calls and customer needs. - Uses labor, materials, and company resources responsibly. - Keeps dispatch or management informed of job progress, delays, additional repairs, and changing service needs. - Safety & Accountability - - Follows established safety procedures, company requirements, and applicable plumbing codes. - Properly maintains assigned tools, equipment, and service-vehicles. - Accurately documents work performed, materials used and identified deficiencies.
