Senior Software Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Join a small engineering team at a growing construction technology SaaS company. You will help scale the system architecture and engineering practices while staying hands-on with product development and influencing technical direction. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Evolve the system architecture and improve performance to support substantial growth and enterprise requirements. - Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and testing practices. - Develop product features hands-on wherever the team needs support. - Define technical standards for observability, security, and code quality. - Support team growth through code reviews, pair programming, architecture discussions, and mentoring. - Document technical decisions and clearly explain trade-offs and implications. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Five or more years of backend engineering experience, including experience helping a software startup scale significantly. - A degree in Computer Science or a related field. - Strong backend experience with TypeScript and Node.js; familiarity with NestJS, PostgreSQL, Next.js, Docker, and AWS is valuable. - Knowledge of databases, performance optimization, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability. - Experience establishing technical standards and mentoring engineers or guiding code reviews and architecture discussions. - A hands-on, pragmatic approach, sound technical judgment, and excellent German or English skills. German is a plus. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Annual base salary of €90,000 to €130,000, plus equity. LOCATION On-site in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
