Enjoy building things, solving practical problems and seeing a finished product come together? This could be a great next move.
We’re looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join Dennis Eagle at our Warwick manufacturing site.
Working as part of our Production team, you’ll assemble and install mechanical components and systems on our specialist vehicles. You’ll work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, interpret engineering drawings and help ensure every build meets our quality and safety standards.
And with a 37-hour working week running Monday to Thursday, you’ll get a three-day weekend as standard.
🔧 What you’ll be doing
- Carrying out mechanical fitting and assembly on specialist vehicles
- Fitting and working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Working within a single-line production environment
- Completing assembly work in line with production timings
- Identifying and helping to resolve fitting or production issues
- Checking your work to ensure it meets our quality standards
- Using production computer systems to support your work
- Working with colleagues across the manufacturing team to keep production moving safely and efficiently
🛠️ What we’re looking for
We’d like to hear from people with:
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Operative or in a similar mechanical assembly role
- Experience working within a production or manufacturing environment
- Practical hydraulic fitting experience
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience working to production or takt times
- Practical problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills
- An interest in developing and learning new skills
A relevant fitting qualification or training in mechanical fitting, hydraulics or pneumatic systems would be useful, but these are desirable rather than essential. Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems or experience working from wiring diagrams would also be beneficial.
You don't need to tick every desirable box. If you have relevant hands-on mechanical or assembly experience and think your skills could transfer, we'd encourage you to apply.
The role involves working in confined spaces, climbing over vehicles and entering or exiting vehicle bodies and hoppers, with occasional heavier lifting.
