About the role

Go-to-Market
Location: Denver, CO (Preferred) Target hire date: ASAP Type: Full-Time Employee Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) ROLE OVERVIEW Pivot Energy is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader to join our team as Vice President (VP) of Market Strategy. The VP of Market Strategy is responsible for setting the policy strategy, market strategy, and accompanying goals for the markets in which Pivot participates, and then leading those outcomes. Key areas of management include market analysis, generating go-to-market plans, policy tracking and influencing, and executive sponsorship of select high-value opportunities. The VP will deliver these outcomes by building, leading, and developing a high-performing team of market strategy, policy, and market development professionals: setting priorities, allocating resources, and holding the team accountable to clear goals. Success in the role will be defined by identifying and maintaining solar, small utility, and BESS markets while maintaining and increasing Pivot’s market share in those markets. This will involve balancing resources across teams to both enter and exit markets to optimize our market mix and resources. This role is ultimately accountable for the team's preparation of and response to procurements within qualifying markets using innovative strategies to secure capacity. The role demands deep understanding of distributed energy resource market policy, wholesale market constructs, legislative & regulatory processes, site origination techniques, equipment and technology usages, modeling and rate analysis fluency, and working across teams to create healthy development environments for company growth. The role also requires the ability to lead executive-level discussions. This is a people-leadership position: the VP will spend the majority of their time setting direction for, coaching, and developing the teams. The role requires a kind, attentive focus to guide team members and work collaboratively across teams.
