About the role
SpanishFrench
Fastned is on a mission to accelerate the transition to electric mobility. Since 2012, we have been building and operating a rapidly growing network of iconic fast-charging stations across Europe powered entirely by solar and wind energy. With 500+ colleagues, we now operate over 450+ stations across nine countries, with an ambitious goal of reaching 1,000 stations by 2030. We are not building infrastructure for its own sake. Every station we open is a tangible step in the transition away from fossil fuels. This role offers you the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of driving this transition across France, Italy and Spain.
The role
As Head of Expansion South-West Europe, you will accelerate the reliable, high-quality expansion of sites for our charging stations across France, Spain and Italy. You will translate strategy into clear regional priorities, practical plans and effective ways of working. You will lead and coach the Expansion Leads and Expansion team members across your region, support cross-functional collaboration and ensure that risks, dependencies and opportunities are visible and addressed. The role combines people leadership, strategic implementation and governance. You will strengthen local ownership while creating alignment, sharing learnings and improving execution across the South-West region.
This role is based in Paris (France) and requires regular travel within Europe.
Your responsibilities
1. Tactical support and people leadership
- Lead, coach and develop the Expansion Leads and additional team members across France, Spain and Italy.
- Establish a consistent operating rhythm covering performance, funnel reviews, forecasting, risks and action tracking.
- Use data and business insights to identify blockers, support needs and capacity requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional support and help resolve dependencies while strengthening country autonomy.
2. Strategic implementation
- Translate ‘Network Development’ priorities into clear regional and country actions.
- Support Expansion Leads and Country Directors in developing aligned expansion plans and strategic roadmaps.
- Drive the adoption of new initiatives, processes and tools across the region.
- Monitor market, competitor, regulatory and customer developments and turn relevant insights into recommendations.
3. ‘Network Development’ leadership and governance
- Represent the South West region in Network Development strategy, planning and portfolio discussions.
- Assess projects and initiatives based on value, risk, dependencies, capacity and strategic fit.
- Ensure country implications are considered early and that approved projects are implemented effectively.
- Lead continuous improvement by embedding lessons learned, standardising successful practices and tracking measurable outcomes.
What success looks like
- You ensure that Expansion Leads have clear priorities, decision space and the support needed to deliver.
- Expansion plans and roadmaps are aligned with Network Development strategy and local market realities.
- Risks, dependencies and performance issues are identified early and addressed effectively.
- Strategic initiatives and project outcomes are adopted consistently across the region.
- Successful ways of working are shared, standardised and scaled across countries.
Who we are looking for
You are a genuine people leader who inspires, challenges, and grows the people around you. You bring:
- Significant relevant experience in expansion, commercial, infrastructure, real estate, energy, mobility or a comparable field in an international environment.
- Experience leading teams or senior professionals across multiple countries or markets, demonstrating your ability to adaptively lead and inspire.
- A proven ability to translate strategy into practical plans, implementation and measurable results.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
- A coaching-oriented leadership style, strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge constructively.
- Professional fluency in both French & English is required. Fluency in Spanish or Italian would be an advantage.
- Affinity with Fastned's mission: a genuine belief in the energy transition.
