About the role
GermanPythonREST APIsLinux
Our software decides every 15 minutes what a battery should do. You make sure it actually does it:
- Integrate our optimizer with battery controllers over Modbus, MQTT and vendor APIs
- Commission systems on site until the battery follows the plan to the kW
- Build our own edge box on standard hardware (think Raspberry Pi on a DIN rail)
YOU WILL HAVE FUN IF YOU ARE
Builder with agency
- Get-shit-done mentality: you'd rather drive to the site than wait for a support ticket
- High ownership, from the vendor call to go-live
Mission-driven
- Passionate about energy transition and climate impact
- Thrive in early-stage chaos (e.g. "Can you be in Ingolstadt tomorrow at 8?")
YOU WON'T HAVE FUN IF YOU
- Like to follow processes. We don't have any.
- Want to work remotely. We're in the office 5 days/week, and regularly on site at customers.
- Want to stay on one side of the wall. This is half software, half hardware.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid Python and embedded Linux (networking, VPN, remote updates)
- Industrial protocols: Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT, REST
- Electrical basics: inverter, BMS, grid connection point. Bonus: PV/battery commissioning
- Fluent German, because installers and customers speak German
Don't worry if you don't have all of the above. We prefer fast learners over high experience.
PERKS
- Super small team, super early: you shape the culture
- You define the hardware: which box we ship and how it's built is your call
- Direct customer access: see your code move a megawatt-hour battery
- €70–100K salary + equity as full time · €24/h as working student
