In addition, the Unit acts to protect Commonwealth land and the public’s interest in private lands. The Housing Affordability and Land Use Unit resides within the Neighborhoods, Housing, and Land Division which works to address critical housing issues in the Commonwealth, dedicating a significant portion of its time to working with municipalities to renew severely distressed properties and create safe, habitable homes.
Position Requirements:
- Prior civil litigation experience preferred.
- Ability to identify, search, and analyze land records relating to title of real property and incorporate searches of relevant building and zoning departments, municipal records, probate and land courts, and tax departments preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Working knowledge of Westlaw preferred.
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license is required, as travel may be required to various courts, client, and opposing party locations and law offices.
