Our Consumer Products & Retail Transformation practice are looking for a Senior Manager/Director to join the team
Our Consumer Products & Retail practice is looking for an experienced Senior Manager or Director to join the team and help our clients deliver complex, business-critical transformation.
We are seeking a highly motivated consulting leader with a strong track record of designing and delivering large-scale transformation programmes within the consumer products and retail sectors. This could include experience across supply chain transformation, S&OP, planning and forecasting, ERP-enabled transformation, or operating model design and implementation.
This is a broad transformation leadership role rather than a position focused on a single functional specialism. The right person will combine strong consulting and programme leadership capabilities with the commercial confidence to lead client relationships, manage complex engagements, and identify opportunities to deepen and grow existing accounts.
Candidates may have built their career entirely within consulting or combined consulting with relevant industry experience. However, substantial consulting experience and a clear understanding of how to lead clients through complex transformation are essential.
What we are looking for
You will be a pragmatic transformation leader who is comfortable moving between strategic thinking and the realities of implementation. You will understand what it takes to mobilise and deliver complex programmes, engage senior client stakeholders, and create alignment across business and technology teams.
You do not need to be a pure business development or new-logo origination specialist. However, you must be comfortable owning senior client relationships, leading the day-to-day development of accounts, and identifying opportunities to broaden our impact with existing clients.
You will also bring enough depth in consumer products or retail to understand the commercial and operational context in which clients are transforming, while retaining the breadth to work across different types of transformation challenge.
What you will be doing
- Lead complex transformation engagements for consumer products and retail clients, taking responsibility for successful delivery from initial design through to implementation.
- Help clients shape and deliver transformation across areas such as supply chain, S&OP, business planning, forecasting, ERP implementation, and operating model effectiveness.
- Translate strategic objectives into practical transformation roadmaps, delivery plans, governance structures, and measurable business outcomes.
- Lead the day-to-day management of major client accounts and engagements, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Act as a confident and credible account leader who can strengthen client relationships, identify emerging needs, and grow existing accounts.
- Oversee complex programmes involving multiple workstreams, business functions, technology platforms, geographies, and stakeholder groups.
- Work across business and technology teams to ensure that transformation programmes deliver sustainable operational improvements rather than standalone systems or process changes.
- Advise clients on the organisational, process, capability, data, and technology changes required to deliver successful transformation.
- Provide clear leadership to multidisciplinary project teams, creating an environment in which consultants can perform effectively and develop their capabilities.
- Manage programme risks, dependencies, budgets, resources, governance, and senior stakeholder expectations.
- Support business development activity through proposal development, solution design, client presentations, and the expansion of existing relationships.
- Contribute to the continued development of our Consumer Products & Retail practice, including its propositions, delivery capabilities, market profile, and people.
Your skills and experience
- Significant experience within consulting, with a strong track record of leading complex transformation engagements for consumer products or retail clients.
- Experience operating at Senior Manager, Director, or an equivalent level within a recognised consulting organisation.
- Demonstrable expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Supply chain transformation
- Sales and operations planning, or S&OP
- Demand, supply, or integrated business planning
- Forecasting and planning transformation
- ERP-enabled business transformation
- Operating model design and implementation
- Complex programme leadership
- Experience leading major transformation programmes from strategy and design through to implementation and business adoption.
- A strong understanding of how business processes, operating models, data, technology, organisation design, and change management come together within a successful transformation.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary consulting teams and manage multiple workstreams within complex client environments.
- Strong client engagement and account management skills, with the confidence to work with senior client stakeholders and manage important day-to-day relationships.
- Evidence of growing or expanding existing client accounts by identifying additional client needs and converting them into relevant opportunities.
- Strong commercial judgement, including experience managing engagement economics, delivery quality, scope, risk, and client expectations.
- The ability to communicate complex transformation topics clearly and credibly to both business and technology stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving, facilitation, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- A collaborative leadership style and a strong commitment to coaching and developing consulting talent.
- Industry experience gained before, during, or after a consulting career would be valuable, but candidates must bring substantial and current consulting capability.
