Assistant Principal of Operations - On Assignment - 2026/2027 School Year

Position Summary: As an Assistant Principal of Operations (APO) On Assignment at Mastery Schools, you will participate in a leadership development experience designed to build readiness for future Assistant Principal of Operations opportunities within the network. The (APO) On Assignment role combines authentic campus leadership with strategic network initiatives, providing opportunities to support instructional leadership, operational excellence, and systems thinking across multiple school contexts. Throughout the year, the APO on Assignment may serve in temporary campus leadership placements, support leadership transitions, lead network-wide strategic initiatives, and provide high-leverage support aligned to evolving student and organizational needs. Working in close partnership with school and network leaders, the APO on Assignment will develop expertise in leading operations systems that improve outcomes for all students while building the flexibility, adaptability, and leadership capacity necessary to successfully lead across diverse school communities During temporary campus assignments, the APO On Assignment may assume the full responsibilities of an APO to ensure continuity of school leadership during vacancies, leaves, or transitions. The role also supports network-wide operation priorities and strengthens Mastery's pipeline of future school leaders.
