About the role
SEOUX DesignSocial Media
We are partnering with an independent digital consultancy of around fifty specialists, working across SEO, paid media, content, analytics, UX and digital strategy. The team supports a diverse mix of Australian and North American businesses, from fast-growing scale-ups to large, complex organisations, with a strong focus on delivering commercially meaningful outcomes.
The culture is collaborative, supportive and genuinely people-first. Learning is encouraged, questions are welcomed, and knowledge is shared openly across teams. Leaders stay close to the work, and junior team members are trusted, guided and supported as they grow. It is an environment designed for people who want to learn properly, not just follow templates.
The role
You will make the content, and you will be there when people respond to it. You will edit the video, write the caption, publish the post, then reply to the comments and DMs that come back, usually across two or three brands at a time.
This role suits someone who already has a strong eye for video and a real feel for what is working on social right now. You will use both every day, whether you are shaping an edit or deciding how a brand should respond to its community.
You will work closely with the Senior Communications Manager, joining shoots and client conversations early on. As you get to know each brand, you will take on more of the content and have more say in how it comes together.
What you'll do
- Edit short-form video to each brand's style, starting with one or two pieces and taking on more as you learn the brands
- Monitor and reply to comments, DMs, mentions, tagged content and reviews, escalating anything that needs it and flagging shifts in sentiment early
- Bring concepts to the table based on trends and new platform features, then help write the scripts and captions in each brand's voice
- Join content shoots to help plan and film, and step in front of the camera when a shoot or the agency's own channels call for it
- Help run UGC and creator campaigns, with your first one or two done with support in your first six months
- Supply content to the paid social team and help test lots of creative to see what works
- Share ideas with clients directly, take their feedback and turn changes around quickly, sometimes at short notice
- Schedule and publish content, keep calendars up to date and report on how organic content is performing
What you'll bring
- 1+ year in social media or community management. Agency experience is ideal because you will be juggling several clients, though strong in-house or freelance backgrounds are welcome too
- Solid short-form video editing. CapCut, Canva and Adobe tools are ideal, but being very good in CapCut alone is enough
- Strong working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, and how content performs on each
- Good judgement when replying to customers, including tricky or negative comments, plus a clear, friendly writing style and close attention to detail
- Experience with scheduling or community management tools, or a willingness to learn them
- Any of these will help you stand out: paid social, content shoots, creator campaigns, reporting that links organic social to revenue, or being comfortable on camera
Who this role is for
You live and breathe social. You would probably describe yourself as chronically online, and you already know which trends are taking off and which are dying without having to go and research them.
You ask a lot of questions, you soak everything up and you are happy to get your hands dirty. You can think on your feet when a client changes direction, and you like bringing your own ideas rather than waiting to be told what to make.
This role is not for you if:
- You are looking for a strategy-only social media role.
- You are not interested in hands-on work like editing, publishing and replying to comments.
- You prefer working on one brand at a steady, predictable pace.
Why you'll love working here
- Well-known brands from your first months, with client conversations starting early
- A clear progression: briefed editing with little back and forth by six months, and running a new client's social with support by 12 months
- Exposure to paid social, SEO and AI visibility work, as your content feeds directly into what those specialists are doing
- A permanent hybrid model, with three days a week at home and two in the office
- Clear learning and development pathways, with structured support from senior specialists
- A wide variety of clients, industries and content challenges
- An inclusive, low-ego team that is genuinely fun to be around
- Regular social events and a culture that values balance and wellbeing
