This is a new position funded by the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), which requires the successful candidate to have personal lived experience with gambling-related harms.
The Gambling Harms Peer Advocate is responsible for providing individualized, nonclinical peer recovery support, community education, and resource navigation to individuals and families affected by gambling-related harms.

In addition to direct peer support, this position participates in community outreach, public education, and collaborative partnerships to increase awareness of gambling-related harms and available support services. The Gambling Harms Peer Advocate works closely with community providers, including the Problem Gambling Resource Center, treatment and recovery organizations, financial counseling services, and other appropriate referral partners to strengthen access to individualized support.
