About the Role
At ARX Robotics, we build Europe’s leading autonomous ground systems and robotic solutions for the defense sector. As we rapidly scale, we are seeking a Head of Finance to take full ownership of the finance function of our Ukrainian subsidiary, as an integral part of the group finance function led from HQ.
You will report directly to our CEO in Ukraine, with a functional reporting line to our Finance Director at HQ in Germany, and manage our Finance Manager. You will implement HQ finance processes and guidelines locally, own accounting, tax, treasury and controls, and personally lead our ERP initiative. We are looking for a hands-on leader who builds the rules and does the work where needed.
What You'll Build
- Implement HQ finance policies, accounting guidelines and reporting standards in the Ukrainian entity. Agree any deviation required by Ukrainian law or military contracts with the HQ Finance Director in advance.
- Deliver the monthly close and group reporting packages (IFRS) to HQ formats and deadlines. Hold a monthly review with the HQ Finance Director on results, budget, cash and key risks.
- Define local management accounting within group standards: cost centers, programs, cost categories. Approve monthly management reporting before it goes to the CEO and HQ.
- Run the local budgeting process according to HQ methodology and calendar: decide on overruns within the delegation of authority; assess the financial case for new modernization, retrofit and localization programs.
- Own treasury: the payment calendar and payment priorities, bank relationships and payment channels (UAH and EUR), and NBU currency control for imports.
- Manage the financial relationship with HQ: funding model, intercompany pricing and settlements for spare parts, services and warranty repairs, and transfer pricing compliance.
- Act as internal owner of outsourced accounting and tax advisors, and lead tax inspections and audits.
- Set accounting rules for inventory and assets: spare parts, retrofit kits, and customer-owned vehicles held for repair.
- Own financial controls: delegation of authority; procure-to-pay and payroll controls; the financial side of contracts and acceptance acts with military customers.
- Lead the ERP initiative personally: assess the current setup;prepare the business case for scaling it versus implementing SAP locally; run the selected project end to end, from requirements to go-live.
What You Bring
- 8+ years in finance, including 3+ years as Head of Finance or Finance Director in manufacturing, hardware, electronics, automotive or industrial service.
- Track record of building or significantly upgrading management accounting and financial controls.
- Practical knowledge of Ukrainian tax and accounting, IFRS, NBU currency control and transfer pricing.
- Experience in a subsidiary of an international group, working under group policies and reporting deadlines.
- Experience managing outsourced accounting and tax providers as the internal owner.
- Hands-on experience personally leading ERP projects; BAS required, SAP implementation is a strong plus.
- Strong command of budgeting, P&L, cash flow and balance sheet, and the ability to present financial data concisely to leadership.
- Fluent English (B2+/C1); Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field.
Please note: You do not need to meet every single requirement to apply. We welcome motivated candidates who are eager to grow into the role and develop their expertise further.
