Senior Backend Developer

MAJORITY is looking for a skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our Backend team. This is a full time, hybrid position based at our office in Stockholm, Sweden. Developers may work from home up to 2 days a week. About our platform and MAJORITY - Our work matters to real people. It shows up in someone's paycheck or the money they send home - We build real-time money movement: card authorizations, risk decisions and balance updates that have to be fast and correct - Our backend is C# microservices on Kubernetes, connected through events where every message counts - Our engineers own what they build, from first design to production and beyond - We take on new challenges, not just new features, from new products to partner integrations - To secure high quality code we practice code review and pair programming, we use CI/CD and automated testing - We also have a lot of fun together. We have a lunch run club, play foosball and other games, go to the gym, AWs etc About you and your responsibilities - You take initiative and ownership, and don't wait to be told what to do - You are always curious and always learning - You take pride in the quality of your work. - You consider the whole system, cover the edge cases and test your codeYou are able to reason through the trade-offs and dare to make decisions for the benefit of the organization - You lead technical decisions and see them through - You think about the bigger picture: how services fit together and how the system will grow - You love to share your knowledge and learn from your colleagues Basic Requirements - Experience building and running microservices and event-based systems in production, at scale - A track record of shipping real systems and supporting them in production - Solid understanding of distributed systems reliability: idempotency, retries, ordering and eventual consistency - Good understanding of higher level architecture and design - Excellent communication skills in English Ideal candidate - Experience with C#, Kubernetes and SQL, or similar - Experience with payment platforms, FinTech, Banking or security - Experience working with a growing team on evolving products with many users - Experience building new products with an eye on maintainability and scalability - Vision for product development and for how a code base evolves - Uses AI tools like Claude or Codex in daily work - Happy hacking on new technology, loves R&D - A degree in computer science - A pleasure to work with If you want to own systems that move real money for people building new lives, alongside a team that cares about getting it right, we'd love to hear from you.
