Director of Communications

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Communications based in the United States. As Director of Communications, you will shape and lead the organization's communications strategy, strengthening its visibility and influence across the health and reentry policy landscape. You will translate complex policy issues into clear, compelling messages that resonate with policymakers, government agencies, community organizations, advocates, and the wider public. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will serve as a strategic partner and a member of the senior leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to build scalable communications processes, establish a consistent organizational voice, and expand digital and media engagement. You will oversee content development, marketing initiatives, public relations, and performance measurement while supporting rapid responses to emerging policy developments. Joining a growing national nonprofit, you will help amplify work that improves access to healthcare for people returning to their communities after incarceration.
