Backend Engineer, Source Code: Repository Services (Ruby)

Our partner is looking for a Backend Engineer, Source Code: Repository Services (Ruby) based in Canada. As a Backend Engineer, you will contribute to the development and evolution of large-scale repository services powering a widely used software development platform. You will take ownership of backend features from initial requirements and technical design through implementation, deployment, and production monitoring. Working primarily with Ruby and modern backend technologies, you will build secure, scalable, and maintainable services that support millions of users. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, Frontend, Infrastructure, and Security teams to deliver reliable solutions. The role offers significant technical autonomy, opportunities to influence architectural decisions, and continuous learning alongside experienced engineers. Within a remote-first and asynchronous environment, you will help shape the future of software development while leveraging AI tools to improve engineering productivity.
