At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive. The Director, Bid Strategy & Pricing (“Bid Director”) leads how Lyft Urban Solutions identifies, shapes, and wins new business. This role brings together commercial strategy, business intelligence, demand planning, and bid management in one function. Working as a strategic partner and deputy to the Head of Commercial Strategy & Delivery, the Bid Director owns the full pursuit lifecycle, from market strategy and pre-tender capture through bid submission and handover to delivery. We're looking for a strategist who is equally strong commercially, technically, and financially, and who leads people and cross-functional teams with confidence. Lyft Urban Solutions (LUS) creates bikeshare programs that riders love, cities need, and operators value. We design, build and support the bikes and stations technology behind bikeshare programs in cities around the world, including Bixi. Our Montreal team sits at the heart of that work, bringing together engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, marketing and commercial teams under one roof. Responsibilities: Commercial Strategy, Business Intelligence, and Demand Planning - Shape the commercial strategy with the Head of Commercial Strategy & Delivery, including target markets, regions of focus, and growth priorities. - Lead the Commercial Strategy & Demand Planning Manager across planning, pricing policy, business intelligence, and demand planning. - Build business and bid intelligence (market, customer, competitor, and procurement insight) that drives strategy, pipeline, and pursuit decisions. - Own demand planning and pipeline forecasting, aligning bid capacity and resources with expected opportunities and revenue targets. Pre-Tender, Capture, and Bid/No-Bid - Own a gated process that all pre-tender pursuits follow, aligned with commercial strategy and target regions. - Deliver capture plans for strategic and specific pursuits, shaping opportunities well before tender release. - Own bid/no-bid recommendations, presenting a clear view of strategic fit, path to win, risk, and financial return to senior leadership. Bid Strategy and Execution - Frame each bid to win: set win themes, value proposition, competitive discriminators, and pricing position at kickoff. - Shape solutions and commercial offers with Operations, Technical, Finance, and Legal so they are competitive, deliverable, and profitable. - Build and challenge bid financial models, pricing, and business cases, ensuring every bid meets agreed margin thresholds. - Embed disciplined bid planning, with clear milestones, review gates, owners, and deadlines. Leadership and Partnership - Lead and develop a team of Bid Managers, Bid Specialists, Bid Coordinators, and the Commercial Strategy & Demand Planning Manager as one high-performing function. - Direct cross-functional bid teams with authority and hold contributors accountable to deadlines. - Make timely, confident decisions under ambiguity and balance risk against win potential. - Connect sales, bids, contracts, and delivery, so what we sell is what we can deliver profitably. Experience: - 12+ years in bid, capture, commercial, or business development roles, including 5+ years leading teams at a senior manager, director level, or equivalent. - Commercially and sales-savvy: a track record of winning large, complex tenders and a strong understanding of sales cycles, customer relationships, and market positioning. - Strategic: able to frame opportunities, set bid strategy, and make clear recommendations to executives. - Technically proficient: able to understand and shape technical and operational solutions, engage credibly with SMEs, and turn requirements into compelling, deliverable offers. Comfortable working with data, BI, and planning tools. - Financially strong: skilled in financial modeling, pricing, P&L, cash flow, and margin management, and able to defend bid financials with Finance and executive leadership. - A confident leader: builds high-performing teams and influences senior stakeholders across functions. - Professional fluency in French and English, written and spoken (proficiency in a third language is a bonus). English is required to work with Lyft teams, customers, and partners across North America and internationally. - Preferred: APMP or Shipley experience, multi-region bidding, and a background spanning bid and delivery.
