ABOUT onX
We’re a team of builders, adventurers, and risk takers using technology to help people confidently explore the outdoors. Driven by our mission to awaken the adventurer inside everyone, we build products that optimize every outdoor experience and inspire confidence to get out and go further.
We’re a high-growth tech company. The pace is fast, the work takes grit, and ambiguity is part of the job. As the world changes around us, we adapt - continuously evolving how we build, prioritize, and deliver.
Our business moves quickly, and there’s real opportunity to shape what we build next. Each of our verticals - Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish - is at a different stage of maturity, which means the challenges you encounter and the impact you have will vary depending on where you sit and what the business needs most.
We operate with an experimentation mindset, continually iterating and improving how we solve problems. We expect our people to use the latest tooling, including AI, thoughtfully and responsibly, pairing human judgment with technology to increase quality, speed, and impact.
Our impact comes to life through the products we build, in the stories of our customers, and in our growing commitment to land stewardship and recreational access.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
As onX continues to grow, we're evolving how we plan, make decisions, allocate resources, and work together across the business. Making these changes successful requires more than designing better processes and operating models. It requires turning those ideas into practical, sustainable ways of working that teams can adopt.
onX is seeking a Transformation Manager to support the delivery and adoption of operating model initiatives across the organization. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on translating transformation priorities into actionable plans, coordinating implementation, and helping teams successfully adopt new ways of working.
You'll own multiple cross-functional initiatives and workstreams from planning through implementation and transition to ongoing business ownership. You'll manage timelines and dependencies, coordinate cross-functional partners, identify and address delivery challenges, and execute organizational change management activities that help improvements take hold.
This role reports to the Director of Enterprise Digital Transformation.
ABOUT THE TEAM
Transformation is a growing function within onX's People & Culture organization, focused on making it easier for teams to work effectively as onX grows. We work across the company to improve how teams operate, make decisions, and get work done—so onX can move faster, focus on what matters most, and make better use of its people, resources, and technology.
Our work sits at the intersection of business operations, technology, and organizational change. We partner with leaders across onX to rethink how work gets done, remove barriers that slow teams down, and introduce better ways of working that can grow with the business. That includes helping onX rethink how work gets done with AI, partnering with our AI and engineering teams so new tools change how teams actually work, not just what they use.
As an early member of this function, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact across onX while helping establish how we deliver change. You'll turn ambitious ideas into improvements that people experience in their everyday work—and help build the practices that make those improvements last.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Essential Job Duties & Functions
1. Deliver Operating Model Initiatives and Workstreams
- Own the planning and hands-on execution of assigned transformation initiatives and workstreams, from scoping and implementation through transition to ongoing business ownership.
- Translate operating model priorities into actionable plans, managing workstreams, milestones, resources, risks, and dependencies to keep initiatives moving forward.
- Coordinate critical planning and decisioning milestones across teams, proactively resolving obstacles and surfacing decisions that could impact progress.
- Track progress and outcomes, adjusting execution plans as needed and ensuring stakeholders have the information they need to support timely decisions.
2. Drive Organizational Change & Operational Readiness
- Develop and execute change management plans that prepare teams to adopt new processes, technologies, and ways of working, including AI-enabled workflows.
- Work directly with stakeholders to understand how changes will affect their teams and identify the communication, training, and support needed for successful adoption.
- Assess operational readiness, identify adoption barriers, and work with business owners and project partners to develop and implement practical solutions.
- Define and track relevant adoption measures, using feedback and results to recommend adjustments and support the successful transition of changes into ongoing operations.
3. Coordinate Stakeholders & Support Effective Decisions
- Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional partners, coordinating activities, clarifying responsibilities, and keeping stakeholders informed and engaged throughout implementation.
- Make sound decisions within assigned workstreams, balancing timelines, quality, stakeholder needs, and business impact while recognizing when broader direction or escalation is needed.
- Make informed decisions on delivery approaches, sequencing, and risk mitigation within agreed priorities. Evaluate trade-offs using business impact, available data, and downstream implications, escalating decisions that require changes to strategic direction or executive alignment.
- Communicate progress, decisions, and outcomes clearly, adapting your approach to different audiences and helping teams stay aligned on next steps.
4. Improve and Apply AI-Enabled Ways of Working
- Actively use AI tools to improve day-to-day analysis, planning, problem-solving, and communication, applying sound judgment and validating outputs.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual effort, or improve workflows, working with business and technical partners to evaluate and implement practical solutions.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of tools, templates, and change management practices that improve delivery efficiency and stakeholder experience.
- Capture lessons learned and share practical improvements that help the Transformation team work more effectively over time.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- Proven ability to independently manage initiatives or workstreams from planning through implementation, including coordinating stakeholders, timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
- Strong organizational change management skills, with experience developing and executing change plans, preparing teams for new ways of working, and supporting successful adoption.
