Company Name: tastytrade Role: Active Trader Consultant Location: Chicago, IL Position Summary Active Trader Consultants (ATCs) are results-driven sales professionals responsible for acquiring and onboarding new retail brokerage accounts from active, self-directed traders. This role focuses on identifying, engaging, and converting high-potential prospects, such as day traders, options traders, futures traders, margin/portfolio margin traders, and frequent equity/ETF investors, who are currently managing accounts at competitor firms or trading through multiple platforms. This is a high-energy sales position, involving outbound outreach, referrals from service, platform demonstrations, and competitive positioning. ATCs are trusted advisors on advanced trading tools, robust platforms, margin/portfolio margin, asset classes supported, and service capabilities. By delivering exceptional consultative experiences, they will drive new account growth, increase trading assets under custody, and boost trading volume and revenue. Successful ATCs have deep market knowledge, strong prospecting skills, and the ability to build long-term relationships that maximize client loyalty and firm revenue. What You’ll Do: Prospecting and Lead Generation: - Identify and qualify high-value active trader prospects through outbound calling, email campaigns, social media (e.g., trading forums, LinkedIn, X), webinars, seminars, and targeted marketing lists - Work an extensive existing lead funnel and partner with our Data & Insights team to continue sourcing the highest quality opportunities Consultative Sales and Needs Analysis: - Conduct discovery calls and meetings to understand prospects’ trading strategies, volume, preferred platforms (e.g., advanced charting, API access, direct market access), commission structures, and frustrations with current brokers - Present solutions highlighting tastytrade’s competitive advantages Platform Demonstrations and Education: - Deliver compelling demos of our trading platforms, including order types, margin capabilities, options tools, futures, and proprietary features - Position our functionality effectively against competitors’ offerings Account Opening and Onboarding: - Guide prospects through the full account application process, including entity vs. individual accounts, documentation, funding, and transfers (ACATS) - Oversee seamless onboarding and initial trade setup to ensure high activation rates Brand Evangelist: - Must exhibit a thorough understanding of all tastytrade products and services and will be responsible for identifying opportunities to maximize all aspects of tastytrade - Consistently reinforce tastytrade’s value proposition and culture in all client interactions and internally, through both your words and your professionalism and expertise Who You Are: - 3+ years of progressive experience in client service, relationship management, platform sales, or premium support within financial services (retail brokerage, wealth management, or trading platforms strongly preferred) - Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals - Ability to thrive in a dynamic, metrics-driven, trader-first culture - Attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency, and laser-sharp accuracy - Deep passion for delivering world-class client service and a solutions-oriented mindset - Strong sales and relationship management skillset - Deep knowledge of active trading products: options, futures, equities, and FX - Demonstrated ability to improve client retention and satisfaction metrics in a fast-paced trading environment - FINRA series 7, 63, 4 licenses Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience at a retail brokerage, trading platform, or high-touch wealth management firm - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Communications, or related field - Personal trading experience or strong passion for the markets - FINRA series 3, 34 and 24 licenses - Strong ability and desire to contribute to team training and mentoring junior staff - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to build trust with sophisticated traders - High emotional intelligence and composure when handling complex client situations Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000 Company Perks/Benefits: - Bonus - Stock Purchase Options - 401k Plan - Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits - Continued Education Support - 20 Paid Vacation Days (plus an additional paid vacation day the month of your birthday!) - 10 Paid Sick Days - Gym Membership Reimbursement - Commuter Benefits - Pet Insurance - Wellness & Mental Health Programs - Charitable Donation Matching - Two Paid Volunteer Days Off - Daily catered lunch when in the office - Full kitchen with snacks and beverages - In-building gym - Shuttle to/from Metra - Office located in the West Loop - Chicago's growing center of tech, great cuisine, and high-end bars About IGNA + tasty IG North America is home to tastytrade, tastylive, and tastyfx—a family of brands built to democratize trading and empower individual investors.
