Small Tool & Equipment Mechanic  Location: Sarasota/Bradenton, FL – Warehouse & Field   Pay: $20–$23/hour, based on experience   Reports to: Alex, Sarasota Warehouse    Keep the tools running. Keep the crews working.  Position Summary  RL James is looking for a hands-on Small Tool Repair Mechanic to join our team at our new Sarasota warehouse. You'll be the go-to person for keeping our tools and equipment in working order, from grinders and jackhammers on the bench to compressors, generators, and high-reach equipment out on the job site. When our crews have what they need, our projects stay on schedule, and that starts with you.  Key Responsibilities  - Small tool repair: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair power and pneumatic tools including grinders, jackhammers, drills, saws, and similar equipment  - Field equipment repair: Travel to job sites to diagnose and repair larger equipment such as compressors, generators, and high-reach lifts  - Preventive maintenance: Perform routine service to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life  - Parts and inventory: Track parts, supplies, and tool condition; flag items that need replacement  - Records: Keep accurate repair and maintenance logs  - Deliveries: Make occasional deliveries of tools, equipment, and materials to job sites  - Safety: Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe, and follow all OSHA and company safety standards    Qualifications  - 2+ years of experience repairing small engines, power tools, or construction equipment  - Mechanical troubleshooting skills with both electrical and pneumatic tools  - Experience with compressors, generators, or lifts is a strong plus  - Valid driver's license and clean driving record  - Reliable, organized, and able to work independently  - Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus  Physical Requirements  - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs  - Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching  - Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather when in the field    What We Offer  - $20–$23/hour, based on experience  - Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)  - A brand-new warehouse and a growing team  - Room to grow across the RL James Family of Companies  - A team that values safety, quality, and treating people with respect    RL James is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
