You must have a solid understanding of building performant, scalable user interfaces and servers with large-scale data, an obsession with design aesthetics, and engineering excellence. What you get to do in this role: - Build highly interactive applications that can scale with application complexity - Create tools, libraries, and frameworks for other developers to build upon - Apply new technology and innovation to improve platform functionality - Write high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (code reviews, unit testing, etc.) - Collaborate with product owners to understand requirements and own the code from design to delivery - Design software that is simple to use, allowing customers to extend and customize functionality to meet their specific needs - Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while enhancing the existing product suite - Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge-sharing In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with 5+ years of software industry experience for bachelor's - Significant experience designing and implementing highly interactive and high-volume applications - Expertise in backend technologies: - Java, JUnit, REST, JSON - Relational databases, SQL, and frameworks like Spring and Hibernate - Frontend technologies, with solid JavaScript experience - Competence in design, usability, and scalability - Python experience is preferred - Strong written and verbal communicationPreferred (nice to have): - Hands-on DevOps experience, including CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) - Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) - Hands-on experience with microservices architecture - Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or similar) Work Personas We approach our distributed world of work with flexibility and trust.
