About the role
Leadership
THE OPPORTUNITY
Parkview's mission is simple: reach people with God's love, raise them to follow Jesus, release them to impact their community. Chicago's south side is a dense, largely unreached community with enormous opportunity for a church willing to love it well. This highly important role exists to lead that mission from the platform: building a worship culture across Parkview’s three campus that reaches people far from Jesus, forms the people already here, and raises up leaders who carry that same calling into their own corners of the city.
This is a role for a worshiper who leads — someone who wants to be around people, who finds joy in developing others, and who sees the stage as one tool among many for shepherding a community. It’s also a high level leadership role that serves on Parkview's Lead Team and gives direction to the church’s worship expression, oversees the Worship Department, and manages several direct reports.
WIN STATEMENT
Parkview's worship culture — across every campus — is led by a team of developed, empowered leaders who passionately desire to lead our community into a real encounter with God, who excitedly carry a vision-driven sound and feel that connects with our community while reaching people far from Jesus, and who wholeheartedly reflect a staff culture that is emboldened, encouraged, and inspired to grow.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Reach. Sets a compelling, forward-looking vision for how Parkview's worship
reaches the next generation and the specific culture of the south side by crafting a sound, vibe, and feel that resonates with people far from Jesus, not just people already in the room. Fluent in both doctrinal worship (the songs that teach who God is) and personal-journey worship (the songs shaping how multiple generations connect with God), with the theological discernment to know when each is needed.
Raise. Leads and disciples the Worship Staff with an eye toward their formation as people first, leaders second — coaching, equipping, and giving real direction so each one grows personally, spiritually, and as a leader in their own right.
Release. Builds teams, not just services. Leads the deliberate shift from a paid, gig-based model toward a strong volunteer leadership culture — recruiting, developing, and discipling volunteers as a core strategy, not a staffing solution — then releases them into real ownership, leadership, and impact in their own communities.
Discipleship and evangelism, inside and out. Sees the recruiting and development of worship volunteers as spiritual formation and outreach at once — building people up inside the church while equipping them to carry that same worship- shaped life into the community beyond it.
A relational, people-first leader. Values the importance of being deeply connected and present with a genuine love of being around people. Leadership development happens in relationship, not just from the stage.
A staff culture that's alive. Emboldens, encourages, and inspires the worship team and broader staff culture by being someone people want to grow under.
A love for this specific place. Prioritizes a love of the south side of Chicago community and culture. Possesses a learners mindset while seeking to understand what this community needs and how Parkview's worship can help meet that.
Vision-setting for a growing church. Builds towards worship's future across Parkview's current three campuses and its trajectory toward future campuses.
Collaborative mindset. Enthusiastically partners with other Staff Leaders to plan and execute experiences that grow Parkview’s community in an expressive lifestyle of worship.
Pastoral calling and heart. Serves as a commissioned pastor at Parkview Christian Church, per Parkview’s Commissioning Policy, performing sacerdotal functions as needed.
