COMPANY OVERVIEW TransGrid Energy is a renewable energy company focused on investing, developing, owning and operating utility-scale battery energy storage systems and PV projects. TransGrid has a robust pipeline of projects under construction and in late-stage development, and the Company is actively expanding its energy asset portfolio across the United States. As an affiliate company of Hanwha Group, a FORTUNE Global 500 company driven by a firm commitment to advancing the clean energy future, TransGrid Energy is striving to shape the renewable energy landscape by providing sustainable and reliable power solutions tailored to meet the energy needs of today and tomorrow. POSITION OVERVIEW TransGrid Energy is seeking an analytically rigorous Associate, Investments to serve as a core analytical resource for the Company’s investment and transaction decisions. The candidate will build and own project- and platform-level financial models across TransGrid Energy’s utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar PV assets, and data center opportunities, translating operating, commercial, market, technical, and transaction assumptions into defensible valuations, investment returns, transaction structures, and strategic recommendations. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to Investment Committee decision-making and the execution of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic equity investments, and asset monetization transactions. The ideal candidate combines advanced financial modeling capabilities with a strong understanding of valuation, transaction mechanics, and renewable energy project economics and is motivated by building durable modeling infrastructure rather than one-off analyses. RESPONSIBILITIES - Build, own, and maintain project-level and portfolio-level financial models for utility-scale BESS, solar PV assets, and data centers across development, construction, financing, operations, and exit. - Develop transaction models for acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic equity investments, asset monetization, and other corporate development initiatives. - Perform valuations using discounted cash flow (DCF), net asset value (NAV), precedent transactions, comparable companies or transactions, and other relevant methodologies. - Develop asset-level revenue, cost, and cash flow forecasts incorporating contracted and merchant revenues, capacity and resource adequacy payments, tolling agreements, hedges, PPAs, capital expenditures, operating costs, augmentation, degradation, insurance, and applicable tax credit assumptions. - Model common and preferred equity, minority and majority investments, staged capital contributions, milestone-based consideration, earn-outs, seller financing, and other structured payment arrangements. - Build joint venture and investor return waterfall models incorporating ownership interests, capital contributions, preferred returns, IRR hurdles, distribution priorities, catch-up or promote structures, and exit or buyout provisions. - Evaluate alternative acquisition and disposition structures, including asset sales, equity interest sales, partial sell-downs, portfolio transactions, and platform-level investments. - Perform purchase price, sources and uses, investor return, cash flow accretion or dilution, break-even, downside, scenario, and sensitivity analyses to support transaction evaluation and negotiation. - Support acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic equity investments, and asset monetization transactions from initial evaluation through closing, including analysis of offers, term sheets, transaction structures, funding requirements, valuation, governance, risk allocation, and exit implications. - Support transaction due diligence, Investment Committee materials, management presentations, buyer and investor Q&A, and transaction negotiations while coordinating with Legal, Tax, Accounting, Development, Project Finance, Engineering, and Asset Management to validate assumptions, evaluate transaction economics, and assess diligence findings. - Design and automate scenario, sensitivity, and probabilistic analyses using Excel, VBA, Python, or other appropriate tools to quantify value drivers, risks, and transaction alternatives. - Establish and maintain standardized model templates, centralized assumption libraries, version control, and documentation to ensure consistency, transparency, and auditability across the portfolio. - Perform independent model reviews and integrity checks on internal and third-party models, maintaining clear model architecture and documentation so assumptions, calculations, and outputs can be readily reviewed. - Monitor transaction pipelines and maintain portfolio-level views of expected proceeds, capital requirements, ownership interests, and transaction timing. - Incorporate Project Finance assumptions into investment models and assess their impact on equity value, investor returns, transaction proceeds, and capital requirements. - Support strategic analyses involving capital recycling, portfolio optimization, new market entry, policy and regulatory impacts, and other investment initiatives; perform other duties and special projects as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field. - 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, infrastructure or private equity investing, corporate development, transaction advisory, valuation, or an energy investment platform. - Demonstrated ability to build integrated transaction and valuation models from a blank workbook, including project cash flow forecasts, investment returns, transaction consideration, and scenario and sensitivity analyses. - Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, including DCF, NAV, precedent transactions, comparable companies or transactions, and investor return analysis. - Experience modeling acquisitions, divestitures, minority or majority investments, joint ventures, common or preferred equity, staged funding, contingent consideration, or other structured investment terms. - Ability to interpret commercial terms in term sheets and transaction documents and translate them into accurate financial model mechanics, including capital contributions, distribution waterfalls, preferred returns, buyout rights, and exit provisions. - Working knowledge of renewable energy project economics and project finance concepts, including how contracted and merchant revenues, operating costs, debt, tax credits, and financing assumptions affect equity value and investor returns. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to design transparent, flexible, and auditable financial models. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to explain model architecture, assumptions, valuation conclusions, and transaction trade-offs to technical and executive audiences while managing concurrent workstreams and transaction deadlines. WORK AUTHORIZATION The ideal candidate for this role will have authorization to work in the US prior to joining TransGrid Energy LLC. The Company will not sponsor or offer assistance with the sponsorship for work authorization in the United States. DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION TransGrid Energy believes that diversity and inclusion are vital to our success. We believe that by embracing different ideas and approaches, we enhance our ability to deliver the best results for our employees, our environment, and ultimately our business partners and customers. We foster a culture where all colleagues are able to share their passions and ideas in order that we may collectively embrace and overcome the challenges in our industry, and work toward a brighter future.
