WHY WE EXIST:
Swarmer develops software that makes drones autonomous and allows them to operate together, in large, coordinated teams — no pilots needed. Our technology has been battle-tested in Ukraine— the world’s most intense proving ground for drone warfare.
In March 2026, we became the first Ukrainian defense startup to go public on NASDAQ, following a $15M Series A — the largest investment in a Ukrainian defense tech company since the start of the war.
Working at Swarmer means operating at the intersection of engineering rigor and frontline reality. The problems and environments are complex, and the stakes are very real. We built this software to enable democratic nations to defend themselves.
If you are motivated by building resilient systems that matter and by seeing the direct impact of your work, you’ll find purpose here.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
The Director of Financial Reporting & Analysis is a senior finance leader responsible for translating Swarmer's financial results and operating plans into clear, decision-ready insight for leadership, budget owners, and the Board. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, you will lead management reporting, forecasting and performance analysis across our multi-entity group, with a strong focus on connecting financial results to business drivers and forward-looking decisions.
This is a hands-on, build-from-the-ground-up role. Swarmer does not yet have a dedicated reporting and analysis function, so you will establish the cadence, models, tools, and standards for management reporting and financial analysis as the company scales. You will work closely with Accounting, Finance, department leaders, and executive leadership while maintaining a strong connection between the operating forecast and the underlying financial statements.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Lead monthly and quarterly financial performance reviews and period-over-period variance analysis, and explain key drivers in clear business terms
• Build and own the monthly quarterly and yearly reporting package
• Partner with department leaders to understand spending, headcount, commitments, and operational drivers, and provide decision support on financial implications and tradeoffs
• Support the SEC Reporting team with analysis for MD&A, earnings materials, and investor questions, ensuring internal reporting remains consistent with external financial reporting
• Ensure reporting and forecast outputs reconcile to the general ledger and maintain clear bridges between actual results, forecasts, and key operating assumptions
• Design and operate reporting and analytical processes with appropriate SOX-aligned controls, documentation, and review steps
• Help shape management reporting, planning, and analytical capabilities within NetSuite and related finance tools
• Partner with finance leadership to maintain reliable operating assumptions
• Build repeatable processes, reporting infrastructure, and analytical standards and, over time, help assess future team and systems needs
WHAT YOU BRING:
• 8+ years of progressive experience across financial reporting, FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting, including experience in a public-company environment or Big 4 / national accounting firm
• Strong grounding in US GAAP and financial statements, with the ability to connect accounting results to operating performance, forecasts, and business decisions
• Demonstrated experience building management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis in a growing or changing organization
• Advanced financial modeling and scenario-analysis skills, with experience working across multiple entities, departments, and currencies
• Working knowledge of SOX controls and public-company reporting requirements as they apply to management reporting, forecasting, and analysis
• Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP, plus advanced Excel/Sheets skills; experience with planning, consolidation, or BI tools is a plus
• Clear, concise communicator who can translate complex financial information for operators, executives, and Board members alike
• CPA, MBA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred
Would be an advantage:
• Experience in defense, aerospace, hardware, government contracting, or another project- or contract-driven environment
• Exposure to international operations, especially across Europe, and multi-entity financial planning
•M&A, integration, liquidity planning, or public-company finance experience
WHAT YOU’LL GET:
- Your work ships fast and gets used. Direct operational feedback from users in weeks, not years
- A fast-paced environment with minimal bureaucracy and no “process for the sake of process”
- Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package (insurance, paid sick leave, 20 paid days off per year)
- Flexible remote work options where possible
Please note that, as a leading defense tech company, we take operations security seriously and may need to perform additional background checks as part of our hiring process. We will do so in accordance with all applicable US laws and regulations and safeguard your data in the process.
