Van Driver - Castlebar

Join Rexel/Kellihers Electrical, Ireland’s leading electrical wholesaler. We are recruiting a Van Driver for our branch in Castlebar, Mayo.   Role Purpose: The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers while providing excellent customer service and representing Rexel professionally. The role requires a strong focus on customer satisfaction, efficient route planning, and ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately and safely. Key Accountabilities: - Deliver goods to customers safely, efficiently, and on time. - Ensure all deliveries are accurately checked and accompanied by the required documentation. - Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach at all times. - Load and unload delivery vehicles in line with health and safety procedures. - Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or issues promptly. - Plan routes effectively to maximise delivery efficiency. - Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and company driving policies. - Support with occasional warehouse duties when required. - Any other duties as reasonably required. Essential Experience: - Previous experience in a delivery driver role. - Experience dealing directly with customers. - A clean and valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle operated. - Knowledge of the local area and route planning is an advantage. - Experience within the electrical wholesale or distribution sector is beneficial but not essential.Technical/Functional Skills: - Excellent communication skills. - Strong organisational and time management skills. - Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively. - Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious. - Good attention to detail, particularly when checking deliveries and documentation. - Basic computer or handheld device literacy. - Ability to work as part of a wider branch team.
