About the role

WHY BETTER. WHY NOW. Better is rebuilding home finance as an AI-native platform—turning a process that once took weeks into something that can happen in seconds. With over $110B in loans funded and $1.2B+ raised, we operate at real scale while rethinking how homeownership works from the ground up. The category hasn’t caught up yet. That’s the opportunity. About Us At NEO Home Loans, powered by Better, we help people navigate the home financing process with clarity and care. Our team values collaboration, ownership, and thoughtful service. We are building a strong broker processing team and are looking for an experienced processor who wants to bring deep wholesale lending knowledge into a corporate environment. Role Overview The Senior Broker Loan Processor owns an active pipeline of broker loans and keeps each file moving from submission through closing. This role is designed for a seasoned mortgage broker processor who is ready to bring their experience to a corporate team with employee benefits, paid time off, and the opportunity to help grow the department. The right person is organized, responsive, comfortable moving at a fast pace, and takes personal ownership of follow-up and deadlines. Essential Responsibilities and Duties • Own and monitor an active broker-loan pipeline, keeping milestones, deadlines, and next steps visible and on track. • Review files for completeness and potential issues, then prepare and submit loans through multiple wholesale lender websites and portals. • Use pricing tools, product matrices, and lender program knowledge to support loan officer decisions about available options and lender fit. • Track underwriting decisions and conditions, appraisal and title progress, disclosures, rate-lock timelines, closing requirements, and funding. • Coordinate timely document collection and condition resolution with borrowers, loan officers, wholesale lenders, and internal partners. • Provide consistent, clear status updates and follow up persistently on outstanding items; raise risks early with a proposed next step. • Maintain accurate loan records and organize documentation in the company’s systems in accordance with lender and company requirements. • Apply working knowledge of agency and government requirements to identify guideline questions and route them to the appropriate decision-maker. • Share ideas, experience, and process improvements as the broker processing department grows; there may be opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities over time. Qualifications and Skills • Typically, 10+ years of mortgage loan processing experience, with a strong preference for a mortgage broker background. Candidates with fewer than 10 years may also be considered if their most recent five years have been dedicated exclusively to broker loan processing. • Hands-on familiarity with several wholesale lender websites, portals, submission processes, and condition workflows. • Working knowledge of underwriting guidelines and loan requirements for DSCR, bank statement, and Non-QM programs. • Experience with mortgage pricing and a strong understanding of lender programs and product options. • Demonstrated ability to organize, track, and manage a fast-paced pipeline with multiple deadlines. • Excellent follow-up, communication, judgment, and attention to detail; takes initiative and ownership through resolution. • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with loan officers, lenders, and internal teams. • Interest in contributing to a growing department and potentially developing into a leadership role. Benefits • Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. • Healthcare, retirement, and voluntary benefits, including medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, and 401(k). • Flexible paid time off and wellness resources. • Additional benefit perks and discounts.
