This role is not open to visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship including those on H1-B, F-1, OPT, STEM-OPT, or TN visa, nor is it available to work corp-to-corp.
Allconnect helps people set up the essential services for a new home: internet, energy, home security, insurance, moving and more. We reach movers through owned and operated channels as well as through partners, building our service into the products they already use, from property management software and moving companies to real estate and relocation platforms. Partners can leverage customizable solutions we have already built, or take raw integrations and build their own experiences. Most of our mover touchpoints and partnerships center around audiences that are close to their move in date - one of our main growth opportunities is reaching movers earlier through partners who see them 30 to 90 days before move day.
The Vice President, Business Development leads this expansion, and the role has two parts. The first is personally landing the partnerships that open new categories, such as mortgage and title, real estate, relocation and moving, insurance and retail: getting in front of the leaders of those companies, shaping the deal and closing it. The second is building the strategy and team behind it: which categories we enter and in what order, what we offer each one, how we structure and price the partnerships, how the team is organized and resourced, and how we stay ahead of competitors going after the same partners. The role owns new partnership revenue and sits on the leadership team of a fast-growing business.
What You'll Do
- Personally build relationships and close partnerships with leaders in new categories, where partners see the mover earlier than we do today
- Build and lead the business development team: how it's structured, who owns which categories, what kind of sellers we need, and what resourcing the plan requires
- Rethink our outreach approach so the team gets a foot in the door with the partners that matter and moves them from first conversation to signed agreement
- Structure the commercial terms of new partnerships (compensation, revenue share, exclusivity, multi-year term, data rights) with legal and finance, with margin in mind
- Sell the full Allconnect offering, not just broadband: energy, insurance, home security, home warranty and moving services, positioned for where the partner's customer is in the move
- Work with product and engineering to define what new categories need from us, including a guided experience that covers multiple services for partners who see the mover earlier, and get it on the roadmap
- Build and maintain the market intelligence behind the strategy: who the players are in each category, who else is going after these partnerships and where they're already embedded, how they price, and which models are working
- Work with account management on the hand-off from signature to launch so new partners go live quickly
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years in business development, partnerships or enterprise sales, including several years leading a team, with a track record of personally closing large platform partnerships and growing new partner revenue year over year
- Experience taking a business into a category or audience it wasn't in before: deciding where to play, building the plan, and closing the first accounts yourself
- Experience with B2B2C models where your product is embedded in a partner's platform and sold to their customers (marketplace, embedded finance, proptech, telecom channel, affiliate or similar)
- Able to own a deal end to end, from first pitch through commercial modeling, contract negotiation and hand-off
- Technical enough to sell an integration, work with product and engineering leaders, and translate partner needs into roadmap requirements
- Has built or rebuilt an outbound sales motion: team structure, pipeline and CRM discipline, forecasting for an executive team, and coaching sellers to hit their numbers
- Comfortable at the executive level with partners and internally, and effective at getting buy-in
- Strong commercial and financial acumen: understands unit economics and margin and can prioritize a large pipeline against limited product and engineering capacity
- Self-directed and comfortable in a fast-moving environment with a lot of ambiguity
- Develops people and builds strong teams
- Experience in home services, telecom, proptech, real estate, moving or utilities is preferred
