Who We Are We at Swissblock are a private investment firm on a mission to lead the way in crypto and cross-asset investing. With a keen understanding that timing is paramount, we employ a systematic approach that combines robust algorithmic trading with exhaustive cross-asset market analysis. We are seeking an operations professional to bring passion and structure to build the foundations of a new company branch. We are partnering with the best solution providers to make the execution and post-trading workflow as transparent and efficient as possible. The overarching goal is to simplify communication and allow our key resources to focus together on problem-solving whilst considering automation. The Opportunity This is a hands-on build role: you will help design and run the branch's operational foundations from day one, shape processes, systems and controls, lead operational workstreams for new product launches, and keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. The role suits someone who combines deep trade-lifecycle knowledge with strong data and automation skills, and who enjoys owning projects from first requirement to go-live. Key Responsibilities Build and project management - Help build the operational foundations: target operating model, processes, controls, procedures and documentation. - Plan and run operations projects end to end: scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks and stakeholder updates. - Support onboarding of external providers, including due diligence, connectivity and testing. New product and instrument launches - Act as the operations project lead for new products, instruments and markets, from initial request to go-live. - Assess operational readiness: booking models, static data, settlement and margin flows, reconciliations, reporting and control requirements. Operations engineering and automation - Build and maintain automated workflows for trade-flow monitoring, reconciliations, exception management and intraday position integrity checks. - Develop tools and scripts that streamline reconciliation, margin monitoring and the corporate actions lifecycle. Data analysis and reporting - Analyse large operational and trading datasets to identify breaks, trends, root causes and improvement opportunities. - Build reports, dashboards and alerting for reconciliation, break investigation, risk monitoring and regulatory reporting. Business-as-usual operations - Support daily operations: trade query management, booking amendments, trade confirmation checks, reconciliations, settlements, compressions, collapses and corporate actions. - Investigate and resolve position, cash and trade-related queries. What You Bring Experience - At least 5 years in an operations team supporting significant trading flow, including automated or algorithmic trading. - At least 3 years of hands-on experience with OTC derivatives (including IRS) operations, including: - trade capture and booking amendments in a well-known OMS; - trade settlement, position and cash reconciliations; - line-item management such as unwinds, collapses and compressions. - Solid understanding of OTC derivatives products and their end-to-end operational workflows. - Solid understanding of CFD and cash equity corporate actions workflows. - Proven experience delivering operations projects, such as system implementations, process redesigns, vendor onboarding or new product launches. Skills and attributes - Strong project management skills: you can structure a project, manage dependencies and deliver on time.§ - Comfortable in a fast-moving, start-up-style environment where processes are still being built. - Clear, concise verbal and written communication in English, with stakeholders at all levels. Technical skills - Excel (advanced): pivot tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH and building robust reporting models. - SQL and Python: hands-on use to automate workflows, analyse large datasets and build operational tools. - AI tools for data analysis: practical experience using AI assistants (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to analyse data, draft queries and scripts, and document processes, with a critical eye for verifying outputs. - Integrations: understanding of APIs, FIX and file-based integrations used across the trade lifecycle. - Reporting and dashboards: experience building custom reports, dashboards and alerting logic, ideally with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. - Financial markets platforms: strong working knowledge of OMS, reconciliation and post-trade systems. What We Offer - The chance to build a new company branch from the ground up, with real ownership and visible impact. - A flat hierarchy, excellent peers and a culture built on responsibility and merit. - Career growth that keeps pace with the business. - A competitive salary plus an annual bonus. - 25 days of annual leave and progressive social benefits. - A modern office in Baar with a flexible hybrid model. - Regular company events. How To Apply Please send your CV and a short cover letter in English. We review every application and treat all applications confidentially. Swissblock is an equal-opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
